Janulewicz <br />recommended County Board pay claims which are within the 90 day limit and to <br />hold claims that are over 90 day limit until received clarification from the <br />State Auditor office. <br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Abernethy to accept Attorney recommendation <br />on Sheriff fees and pay the claims under the 90 day limit and hold over the <br />claims over 90 days for clarification from state Auditor. Abernethy, Hart- <br />man, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Attorney Janulewicz had given letter to board members in regard to the <br />application for Homestead Exemption for Kathleen K. Michel (Smith) stating <br />recommended procedures to follow in Board of Equalization later today. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW PROCEDURES FOR Hall County Housing Authority Projects. <br />Janulewicz had given written letter to Board Members. Recommended holding <br />until hear further from the Department of Housing and Urban Development for <br />clarification. <br /> <br />Supervisor Hartman stated the Chairman needs to appoint member to the Keno <br />Committee and suggested Lancaster be appointed. He also spoke in regard <br />to the Housing Authority notification to Mid Plains Center that they could <br />no longer park in parking lot. <br /> <br />Supervisor Quandt asked questions in regard to County Board Committee and <br />actions being taken. One he referred to was Safety Committee and Super- <br />visors Lancaster and Landis responded to his questions. <br /> <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION <br /> <br />NONE <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY HANDIBUS BUDGET - Marianne Manning, Coordinator of Handibus <br />Services and Lois Stienike, Director Senior Citizens Industries were present. <br />They presented the 1997-1998 fiscal year budget. Stienike stated would be <br />getting $1500.00 less from federal this year. City of Grand Island gave <br />$15,000.00 toward purchase of new bus last year. Request for 1997-1998 <br />budget is $36,550.50 from Hall County. Last year was $30,647.00 <br />Stated there will be meeting this Friday, April 4th at 10:30 a.m. til <br />12:00 noon at Grand Generation Center to discuss transportation with other <br />entities and suggestions on how to handle cab tickets. Board Members are <br />invited to attend the meeting. <br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Hartman to accept the Operating Budget for <br />Handibus for 1997-1998 fiscal year budget and authorize Chairman to sign <br />the application. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and <br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />E.A. ENGINEERING SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY request for additional funding for <br />the Environmental Impact Statement for Improvements to South Locust Street. <br />Dan Hostler, Public Works Director reviewed the letter of request with <br />the Board Members and suggested authorizing additional $1200.00 for copies <br />and deny the balance of request. Discussed the cost to Hall County and with <br />the refund Hall County should get total return of $131,200.00 making total <br />actual cost to Hall County of $32,000.00 <br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Abernethy to approve payment of $1200.00 to <br />be paid from Road Budget to cover the completion of the EIA Study. Aber- <br />nethy, Lancaster, Landis, Long and Stelk voted yes, Hartman and Quandt voted <br />no. Motion carried on 5 yes, 2 no vote. <br /> <br />Supervisor Quandt left the room. <br />Discussion on the Wood River Drainage Ditch. Dan Hostler, Public Works <br />Director spoke in regard to the project. requested to place $6000.00 in <br />the Road Budget to do the project. <br />Supervisor Hartman recommended we put the $6000.00 in tije road budget <br />for the project. <br />
