<br />Stelk made a motion and Quandt seconded to refer the bids to the
<br />Public Wor~s Committee and Public Work Director for their
<br />recommendation. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long and
<br />Quandt all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />RECEIVE PETITION TO PAVE CAPITAL AVENUE FROM ENGLEMAN ROAD TO
<br />ORDINANCE PLANT: Tami Hooker, 4525 West Capital Avenue,presented
<br />a petition to the county board requesting this road be paved.
<br />The Public Works Department maintains this road but it has a high
<br />traffic count. When school is dismissed there is a serious traffic
<br />and parking problem. Stelk made a motion and Hartman seconded
<br />to accept the petition and place on file and refer this to the
<br />Public Works Committee and Director. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster,
<br />Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Landis
<br />abstained. Motion carried.

<br />DECISION FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION: Hartman made a motion and Stelk
<br />seconded to reconsider the motion made January 21, giving Don Shuda,
<br />Veterans Service officer a $500.00 raise. Abernethy, Hartman,
<br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none
<br />voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Hartman made a motion and Stelk seconded to give Don Shuda, Veterans
<br />Service office~ a 3% raise of $937.56. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster,
<br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no.

<br />ACCEPT COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION ON MOTOR GRADER: The Public Works
<br />Committee met at 8:30 on the motor grader bid. The county attorney's
<br />opinion clarified that only the 1997 model bid could be accepted.
<br />Hartman made a motion and Quandt seconded to accept the bid from
<br />Nebraska Machinery on the 1997 Mach 12H motor grader for $119,209.00
<br />with the trade in of the 1986 Gallion. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster,
<br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no.

<br />SIGN LETTER FROM SOIL CONSERVATION TO STATE OF NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT
<br />OF ROADS FOR DRAINAGE DITCH IN SECTIONS 19,20,AND 30-9-12: Hartman
<br />made a motion and Abernethy seconded to sign this letter. Abernethy,
<br />Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes
<br />and none voted no. Motion carried.
