Motion carried. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98- nOB, <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING RECOi\'Il\'IENDATIONS <br />OF THE REGIONAL PLANNING COi\'ll\'fiSSION <br />REGARDING CONTROL OF INTENSIVE HOG <br />CONFINEMENT FACILITIES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the development of intensive hog confinement facilities is a matter effecting <br />local environment and the health and welfare of the people of Hall County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable to implement reasonable controls on the establishment of <br />intensive hog confinement facilities through zoning restrictions and regulations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Nebraska Revised Statutes require the County to obtain recommendations of <br />the planning cOnmllssion prior to amending the county zoning resolution. <br /> <br />NOW BE IT RESOL \lED, the Hall County Board of Supervisors respectfully requests <br />that the Hall County Regional Planning Commission consider and make recommendations <br />regarding amendments to the Hall County Zoning Resolution that would incorporate the <br />following elements in regulating the establishment of intensive hog confinement facilities inthe <br />AG-I Agricultural Zone: <br /> <br />1. The requirement of a conditional use permit for any intensive hog confinement operation <br />involving more than 3000 swine (and more than 600 sows). <br />2. No intensive hog confinement operations involving more than 3000 swine (and more than 600 <br />sows) shall be pennitted within one (I) mile of an existing school, church, public park 01/ <br />residence (other than those of the feedlot owner/operator). <br />3. No new residence (other than those of the feedlot owner/operator), school, church or public <br />park shall be allowed within one (1) mile of a pennitted intensive hog confinement operation <br />involving more than 3000 swine (and more than 600 sows). <br />
