Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. 9:25 a.m. executive session 10:50 a.m. Quandt made a motion and Long seconded to go out of executive session. Abernethy, Hartman, -Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. DISCUSSION ON POLICY FOR INSURANCE: County Clerk Marla Conley explained some concerns and questions she and some of the board members had received concerning insurance presentations during the last week of July. Some of the employees and elected officials were unhappy with the procedure. The board stated to refer this to Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz to set up a policy and address this matter again in 2 weeks. DISCUSSION ON WEED CONTROL SUPERINTENDENT APPLICATION: Quandt requested that this matter be addressed. The board needs to make a decision on a permanent replacement. Quandt made a motion and Stelk seconded to advertise for the position and accept applications until August 15. Stelk-stated that she had the job description from the previous year. Hartman and Landis stated that the Weed Board wants to wait because the season is winding down and they are discussing if the secretary position should be full or part-time and if it is necessary to hire an assistant. Lancaster suggested that the motion be amended to take applications in September. Stelk and Quandt expressed their concerns on a conflict of interest since Jack Niemoth is president of the Weed Board and also acting as the interim weed superintendent. Lancaster stated that it is important to have input from the Weed Board on these matters. Landis stated that th~[,Weed Board will meet in August and to wait until they come in ~ittna decision on the positions. Stelk made a motion to call fo:rl-lhe question, with no second the motion failed. It was ~u4~~sted that the County Board and the Weed Board have a joint ~e~ti~ng to discuss this matter.
