Abernethy, Hartman, -Lancaster, Landis, Long, <br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ON POLICY FOR INSURANCE: County Clerk Marla Conley <br />explained some concerns and questions she and some of the board <br />members had received concerning insurance presentations during <br />the last week of July. Some of the employees and elected <br />officials were unhappy with the procedure. The board stated to <br />refer this to Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz to set up <br />a policy and address this matter again in 2 weeks. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ON WEED CONTROL SUPERINTENDENT APPLICATION: Quandt <br />requested that this matter be addressed. The board needs to make <br />a decision on a permanent replacement. Quandt made a motion and <br />Stelk seconded to advertise for the position and accept <br />applications until August 15. Stelk-stated that she had the job <br />description from the previous year. Hartman and Landis stated <br />that the Weed Board wants to wait because the season is winding <br />down and they are discussing if the secretary position should be <br />full or part-time and if it is necessary to hire an assistant. <br />Lancaster suggested that the motion be amended to take <br />applications in September. Stelk and Quandt expressed their <br />concerns on a conflict of interest since Jack Niemoth is <br />president of the Weed Board and also acting as the interim weed <br />superintendent. Lancaster stated that it is important to have <br />input from the Weed Board on these matters. Landis stated that <br />th~[,Weed Board will meet in August and to wait until they come in <br />~ittna decision on the positions. Stelk made a motion to call <br />fo:rl-lhe question, with no second the motion failed. It was <br />~u4~~sted that the County Board and the Weed Board have a joint <br />~e~ti~ng to discuss this matter. The board voted on the motion to <br />accW~t applications for the weed control superintendent until <br /> <br />e>? <br />
