<br />C(7RiI.:L3 <br /> <br />Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz stated that the separate resolutions that were <br />added to the agenda could not be addressed separately but could be amendments to the <br />original resolutions. The proposed changes stated that tax dollars, keno fund or <br />inheritance funds, except for the paving project, would not be used and the Department <br />of Corrections would reimburse the County for investigations of criminal acts and for <br />assistance in the event of an escape or disturbance and reimburse the county for <br />prosecution, court, jail and other costs associated with inmate activities, and also any <br />crime or juvenile offenses committed locally by family of inmates. The county has no way <br />of knowing the future liability or the costs involved. The county has certain statutory <br />duties that can only be changed by legislation. <br /> <br />Justine Guzinski, 1523 S Lincoln, opposed <br />Bill Leiser, 4425 N Englemann Rd, opposed <br />Virgil Eihusen, Grand Island, for <br />John Wagoner, 615 S. Charles, for <br />Terrill Perkins, Hall County Sheriff, spoke on support for county board <br />Jean Mettenbrink, 6950 N St. Paul Rd., opposed <br />Jim Stalker, 117 W 19th, opposed <br />Terry kruza, St. Paul, opposed <br />Charlie Cuypers, 1508 Spruce Place, for <br />Tricia Beem, 1419 W Hagge, clarified sign in procedure at public hearing <br />Lewis Kent, 624 Meves, opposed <br />Jim Leschinsky, 8251 N St. Paul Rd, opposed <br />Jan Gustofson, Doniphan, opposed <br />Alice, no last name or address, prayed for elected officials <br />Ken Gnadt, 1610 Gretchen, for <br /> <br />Mayor Ken Gandt stated the city council had voted on April 1 to proceed with the phase 2 <br />application process and were scheduled to meet again at 9:00 p.m. this evening. Hartman <br />read the revised resolution. Lancaster questioned if the revised resolution would kill the <br />application and Janulewicz stated that he could not say one way or the other what would <br />happen. Landis questioned if the county was required to fund anything with tax dollars. <br />In section 4 of the draft agreement the county is only responsible to pave a section of <br />Abbott Road. <br /> <br />Lancaster stated she welcomed public participation and she received many phone calls <br />and had also polled her constituents. The County Board unanimously voted <br />to put it to a vote of the people, but the election could not be held until July and this <br />would be to late and would not prove anything. <br /> <br />Abernethy stated her people were in favor of proceeding with the application process. <br />She stated that she as visited many of the state correctional facilities and most of them are <br />accredited.
