Mr. Dart stated that these <br />regulations are already in effect outside the city limits and it <br />was not his intention to shut anyone down but only to insure a <br />safe food product. Stelk stated that the health board has not <br />discussed this issue and they should have discussed it before it <br />went to the City Council. <br /> <br />Ron Scherling, 1217 West 5th, owner of the New AIda Lounge, <br />expressed his concern that as a licensed facility he was unaware <br />that these changes were coming. If a business was sold it may <br />not be able to get a license unless it could comply. Mr. Dart <br />explained that the Nebraska Restaurant Association supports these <br />codes and if a business is sold the equipment could be replaced <br />as it breaks down. He explained that some events are non- <br />commercial or temporary events and would not be required to <br />comply with the state codes. Stelk stated this will be discussed <br />at the health board meeting tonight. <br /> <br />BUILDING AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION ON JANITORIAL BIDS: <br />Quandt read the committee recommendation that G & D Janitorial <br />continue with the cleaning service. Quandt made a motion and <br />Abernethy seconded to accept the bid from G & D Janitorial for <br />$75,492.00 per year and authorized the Chairman to sign the <br />contract. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt <br />and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION ON PARK MOWER: The committee report was <br />read recommending the purchase of a new Grasshopper Mower model <br />721 from Fairbanks Farm Equipment Company of Wood River in the <br />amount of $5,620.00 and the purchase of a Grasshopper with trade- <br />in of one Grasshopper from Grone's Small Engine Repair for <br />$1,789.1~ and a Motorola radio from Platte Valley Communications <br />for $641.00. Quandt made a motion and Stelk seconded to approve <br />the purchase of the mowers and radio. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Lancaster Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />APPROVE FINAL PLAT FOR HEAVENLY HAVEN SECOND SUBDIVISION: Public <br />Works Director Daniel Hostler expressed concern on the ingress <br />and regress to the property. There is only one way to access the <br />lots unless there is permission to use a private road in Meadow <br />Lark subdivision. This plat will be addressed later. <br /> <br />APPROVE FINAL PLAT FOR LUFT ACRES SUB AND J. H. HARDER SUB: Stelk <br />made a motion and Landis seconded to approve the final plats for <br />Luft Acres Subdivision and J. H. Harder Subdivision. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes <br />and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Abernethy made a motion and Lancaster seconded to add the update <br />
