<br />t:Jtl= Z)C)',/9 <br /> <br />SCOPE OF WORK FOR MASTER FACILITIES PLAN: The facilities planning <br />committee, including members from the County Board and 'he City <br />of Grand Island, have met several times. They are considering <br />hiring a consultant to consider the short and long-term needs of <br />the city and county and look at a way of meeting those needs to <br />make better use of the buildings we have. Quandt expressed <br />concern over the purchase of buildings that are white elephants. <br />Lancaster stated hiring a consultant may help from making <br />mistakes. Landis expressed concern on the cost and the county is <br />under a lid but the city has additional sources of income. Stelk <br />stated that if the county doesn't want to pursue this the long- <br />range planning would be done. Hartman stated the county may want <br />to look at privatization on certain services. This will on the <br />agenda for February 27. <br /> <br />10:00 A.M. PUBLIC HEARING FOR MANAGER'S LICENSE FOR GAS'N SHOP: <br />Stelk made a motion and Long seconded to open the public hearing <br />for the managers license for Linda M. Neemeyer with Gas 'N Shop, <br />Wood River. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt <br />and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br /> <br />No one appeared to oppose the request and the letter from the <br />Hall County Sheriff's office stated there was no reason not to <br />approve the request. <br /> <br />Stelk made a motion and Abernethy seconded to close the public <br />hearing. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Stelk made a motion and Long seconded to approve the manager's <br />license for Linda Neemeyer. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />NEBRASKA FISH & WILDLIFE REGARDING PURCHASE OF PROPERTY: Gene <br />Mack, with the Nebraska Fish and Wildlife Service requested the <br />County Board's approval for this purchase. This property is in <br />the flood plain and if purchased would be turned back to <br />grassland. It would be about 386 acres, but the farm site and <br />the tower land would not be included in the property purchased by <br />the Fish and Wildlife Service. The property is currently used <br />for irrigated corn. Landis and Quandt expressed concern of the <br />property going off the tax roles. Stelk made a motion and <br />Abernethy seconded to approve the purchase of the land by the <br />Fish and Wildlife Service. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long <br />and Stelk all voted yes and Quandt and Landis voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />10:30 A.M.
