8 10:00 AM VERIZON WIRELESS I-PAD I'RESENTATION BY ABBEY SCHULTZ -VERIZON <br /> GOVERNMENT ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE - <br /> DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL FOR BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO PROC��D WITH I- <br /> PAD WIRELESS AND TECHN�LOGY UPGRADE(S) Ziala stated that the computer committee <br /> met with Abby Schultz to go over the I pad and I Phones and are to a point now they want to <br /> make this presentation to the full board and move forward. <br /> Lancaster noted that they have laptops he in the board room but da not actually have an office <br /> they use the committee meeting roam or home computers and they are looking at becaming <br /> more paperless. The current cell phone policy anly covers the cost of a basic phane and if a <br /> person wants a smart phone they receive a $30.00 reimbursement. She also noted that other <br /> counties are going paperless. <br /> Ms. Schultz is a government account representative with Verizon and she gave a power point <br /> presentation. There are 2 sizes a mini or a 9.7 display. <br /> Quandt ask if the board goes forward what the cost would be and Ms. Schultz stated that it <br /> wauld be $639.99 per unit and the monthly fee wauld be $39.99 per unit. <br /> McFarland questioned if the county would buy them or if the board members would buy them <br /> persanally. Discussion was held on the use of the units. <br /> Ziola questioned if the units would come with programs and Ms. Wilson stated that it do�s but <br /> there are additional applications that do have a fee. He stated that people are not expected to <br /> buy their own computers but Mr. Drudik has been getting requests regarding I phones and I <br /> pads. <br /> Ms. Schultz stated that if the employee buys it them they may not be able to take advantage of <br /> the government pricing. <br /> McFarland requested that she provide a printed list of the pricing af all of the units. <br /> Arnold stated that he has an I phone and he would encourage all of the board ta get to this point <br /> but he wants to own it himself and wants only one place to go far his information. <br /> McFarland stated that he is not comfortable to make any decision yet, but he is leaning toward <br /> persanal ownership and the connection is through the county because of the unlimited data. <br /> Quandt stated that the board did not budget for this expense. Discussion was held and it could <br /> be paid out of miscellaneous general. This will be returned to the cammittee and come back to <br /> the board. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION —Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT— Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka reminded the board <br /> members about the meeting at Stuhr, CNCS, Economic Development and Midland Area <br /> Agency on Aging. She requested a quick meeting after the board meeting of regarding an issue <br /> with emergency management. She also reminded them to review the committee assignments <br /> 6 <br />
