They are working on the <br /> construction of a new airport terminal and it will be as energy efficient as possible. They still <br /> have the Allegiant Air and Phoenix/Mesa flights and the flights to Dallas/Fort Worth. They will <br /> be working on the essential air service renewals. <br /> The big news is that the enplanements increased 19% there were 56,059 boardings for the year <br /> and �,000 boardings in December. <br /> They have received the safety award from the FAA 8 years in a row with no problems. There <br /> are currently 387 peaple employed with businesses at the airport and with the new armory it will <br /> add more jobs. <br /> The baard thanked him for the update. <br /> 12. They want to cooperate with the board but there is a purpose for <br /> using this location. They are all volunteers and most of the <br /> manpower lives in the City of Grand Island. The response times are shortened and this also <br /> affects the insurance rate for residents. They have a concern an the heat in the shed and <br /> during the winter months they house a fire safety trailer in there instead of the fire engine. <br /> Schuppan stated that he and Dan Purdy laoked for other locations that were heated and the fire <br /> district has looked too and they did not find anything. <br /> Mc�arland stated that there isn't any alternative and they need to retain the location. <br /> McFarland made a motian and Gary seconded to rescind the notice of terminatian of the lease. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt 5chuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted <br /> no.
