MIKE OLSON, C�NTRAL N�BRASKA REGIONAL AIRPORT— STATE OF THE AIRPORT <br /> ADDRESS — Mr. Olson gave a power point presentation. He noted the new sign at the airport <br /> and stat�d they celebrated 75 years as an airport this year. They now have the Life Team <br /> Critical Care air ambulance at the airport. They have a radius of 90 miles. They will be <br /> spending $27 million in construction cost that will include a new FBO terminal; they will add 650 <br /> new parking spots and are look at adding 5 more T hangers. They are working on the <br /> construction of a new airport terminal and it will be as energy efficient as possible. They still <br /> have the Allegiant Air and Phoenix/Mesa flights and the flights to Dallas/Fort Worth. They will <br /> be working on the essential air service renewals. <br /> The big news is that the enplanements increased 19% there were 56,059 boardings for the year <br /> and �,000 boardings in December. <br /> They have received the safety award from the FAA 8 years in a row with no problems. There <br /> are currently 387 peaple employed with businesses at the airport and with the new armory it will <br /> add more jobs. <br /> The baard thanked him for the update. <br /> 12. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION OF GRAND ISLAND SUBURBAN FIRE <br /> PROT�CTION DISTRICT NUMB�R THREE LEASE WITH HALL COUNTY - McFarland stat�d <br /> that after the last meeting he received a call from Chuck Hoffman with the fire district and he <br /> asked to come to the board. They want to cooperate with the board but there is a purpose for <br /> using this location. It allows them to respond quicker to calls on the north side of Grand Island. <br /> The engin� also has medical equipment on it. They are all volunteers and most of the <br /> manpower lives in the City of Grand Island. The response times are shortened and this also <br /> affects the insurance rate for residents. They have a concern an the heat in the shed and <br /> during the winter months they house a fire safety trailer in there instead of the fire engine. <br /> Schuppan stated that he and Dan Purdy laoked for other locations that were heated and the fire <br /> district has looked too and they did not find anything. <br /> Mc�arland stated that there isn't any alternative and they need to retain the location. <br /> McFarland made a motian and Gary seconded to rescind the notice of terminatian of the lease. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt 5chuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted <br /> no. Motian carried. <br /> Arnold stated that they need to address the heat in the building. <br /> Lancaster stated that the board appreciates the volunteer fire departments. <br /> 16 .ADOPT FLOOR PLAN FOR NEW VET�RAN'S SERVICE OFFIC� — Mr. Quandt stated that <br /> there was some discussion an completing the canference room in the building. Lancaster <br /> stated that this could be campleted at a later date. <br /> McFarland stated that he would recommend not doing anything with that conference room at <br /> this time and seeing if there is money left to complete it. <br /> 7 <br />
