<br />F19990177 <br /> <br />contacted each county office to see what equipment and software <br />will be needed for the 1999-2000 budget. They are now requesting <br />authorization to purchase all the platforms and software <br />necessary to complete the project. Extension Agent Tom Drudik <br />stated he will need 8 platforms for his office and pay $8,000.00 <br />out of his budget and $5,000.000 will be paid from miscellaneous <br />general. Stelk made a motion and Lancaster seconded to purchase <br />the computers for the extension office and $5,000.00 will be paid <br />from miscellaneous general 5-1400 and $8,000.00 out of the <br />extension office budget. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />County Assessor Jan Pelland will need to replace the CAPS system <br />that she uses for the personal property. $20,000.00 was budgeted <br />in the computer budget for hardware. She will need to address <br />the software and is currently looking at the various programs. <br />Lancaster made a motion and Stelk seconded to authorize the <br />purchase of 20 work stations and 1 lap-top computer for the <br />County Assessor's office from the computer line item 5-0500. <br />Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />Lancaster made a motion and Stelk seconded to authorize the <br />purchase of the software upgrades from the equipment and <br />improvement reserve fund 5-0500. Arnold, Jeffries, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no, with <br />Hartman absent for the vote. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Landis made a motion and Arnold seconded to authorize the <br />purchase of the printers for the sheriff and corrections <br />department for about $12,000.00 from line item 5-0500 and to <br />authorize the purchase additional servers with the balance of <br />$17,000.00 in 5-0500. Arnold, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan <br />and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />11:20 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. break <br /> <br />11:00 A.M. UNL FOUNDATION REGARDING CORNHUSKER LAND: The reuse <br />committee met last week and the proposed ownership on tracts 59 <br />and 63 would be for a multi-purpose shooting sports facility, <br />tracts 1, 2, and 19 would be used to develop recreational <br />facilities and CPNRD would develop detention cells along Silver <br />Creek and the Agricultural Institute of Nebraska is requesting <br />the transfer of these tracts for a nominal amount. Paul Groshan, <br />Vice Chancellor Alan Moeller and Alan Baquet Director of Research <br />at Clay Center were present to request the transfer of the land. <br />Mr. Groshan stated that the Husker Harvest Day site is out of <br />
