<br />~19990018 <br /> <br />HOWARD MAXON REQUEST TO PURCHASE GENERATOR: Stelk stated that <br />Howard Maxon had sent a memo regarding the generator in the <br />basement of the old city hall building on October 7 and wanted <br />direction from the board regarding the purchase and moving of the <br />generator. It could be used at the new communications tower as a <br />back-up generator. This matter will be tabled until Mr. Maxon <br />can address the board. <br /> <br />APPROVE THE COUNTY ATTORNEY COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT: Stelk made a <br />motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the agreement and <br />authorize the chair to sign. Arnold, Jeffries, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no, with <br />Hartman absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />SETTLEMENT OF COUNTY TREASURER WITH COUNTY BOARD: Stelk made a <br />motion and Lancaster seconded to accept and place on ~ile the <br />County Treasurer's settlement with the county board. Arnold, <br />Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and <br />none voted no, with Hartman absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />10:30 A.M. PUBLIC HEARING PUBLIC HEARING FOR CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT FOR WERNER CONSTRUCTION FOR ASPHALT PLANT FOR STATE <br />HIGHWAY PROJECT: Stelk made a motion and Lancaster seconded to <br />open the public hearing for the conditional use permit. Arnold, <br />Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and <br />none voted no, with Hartman absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Chairman Jeffries called for individuals that support the request <br />for the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Richard Wray, 122 East Second, Hastings, Nebraska, is the owner <br />of Werner Construction. He stated in order to proceed with the <br />proposed project for the asphalt overlay they will need this <br />permit. Public Works Director Dan Hostler stated that the county <br />has completed setting the box culvert project on that road. <br /> <br />Carol Voss, 5531 North 130th Road requested to speak. She stated <br />that because of the trafic on the road there will be a dust <br />problem that will create a health hazard and is requesting that <br />the road will be watered down. There are state and federal <br />regulations regarding emissions and if the dust is not controlled <br />she should contat Public Works Director Dan Hostler. No one else <br />requested to speak at the public hearing. <br /> <br />Stelk made a motion and Landis seconded to close the public <br />hearing. Arnold, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk <br />all voted yes and none voted no, with Hartman absent. Motion <br />carried. <br />
