7. BID OPENING 10:00 A.M. POWER SYSTEMS HARDWAR� —County Clerk Marla Conley <br /> stated that she did not receive any bids and she checked with Mr. Drudik and he did not receive <br /> any bids. Discussion was held. This will be referred back to the committee. <br /> 11. APPROVE BI WEEKLY PAY CLAIMS <br /> 11 B. APPROVE �ARLY CLAIMS FOR 1) Gary Smith Construction <br /> 2) Early Claim far US Bank Card -- Lancaster stated that a meeting was held with US Bank <br /> regarding the debit cards that were issued to Hall County and because there is a 14 day billing <br /> cycle it is necessary ta process an early claim to keep the accaunt current. This is the only way <br /> to address this at this time and they are still working on the issue. <br /> Schuppan questianed if there were other sources for the same service. There are other <br /> d�partments that want to use the cards. <br /> Mr. Sherlack stated that he submitted the early claim for Gary Smith Construction for the asphalt <br /> overlays. Mr. Smith did a good job and he would like to process this claim. <br /> Quandt noted the miscellaneous receipt for the road damage and asked if it would cover the <br /> expenses. Mr. Sherlock stated that it would cover the supplies but not the labor. He stated that <br /> overweight vehicles are a problem and because of the high fuel costs the companies try to <br /> make the trucks carry as much as possible. <br /> Mr. Schuppan noted that he drove Schultz Road and the raads are beautiful. He commended <br /> the highway department employees for their work. <br /> Ziola stated that the neighbors reported the overloaded trucks. The public tries to protect the <br /> roads because the roads belong to them. <br /> Quandt asked if anyone else has collected for road damage and Mr. Zitterkopf stated that he did <br /> not find any cases of this before. Quandt asked if ther� still road maintenance dollars left and <br /> Mr. Sherlock stated that they have $20,Q00.00 left <br /> Arnold made a motion and Quandt seconded to apprave the biweekly pay claims and the early <br /> claim for US Bank and Gary Smith Construction. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, <br /> Schuppan and Ziala all voted yes and none voted no. Mation carried. <br /> 4. COUNTY ATTORNEY— �XECUTIVE SESSION — �OR THE PROTECTION �F'THE <br /> PUBLIC INTEREST PENDING LITIGATION STRATEGY—Ziola made a motion and McFarland <br /> seconded to go inta executive session for the protection of the public interest. Arnold, <br /> Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and nane voted no. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 10:25 a.m. executive session <br /> 10:45 a.m. Ziola made a motion and Arnold seconded to ga aut of executive session. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and nane <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> No actian was taken. <br /> 3 <br />
