PUBLIC WORKS BID OPENING FOR V PLOW—Quandt made a motion and Ziola seconded to open the bids for the V Plow. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziala all voted yes and none voted na. Motion carried. The following bids w�re received: BIDDER BASE BID TRADE IN N�T BID Nebraska Machinery Co. $25,335.00 $12,000.00 $13,335.00 Road Builders $25,744.22 $ 5,000.00 $20,744.22 Quandt made a motian and Arnold seconded to refer the bids to the public works committee. Mr. Sherlock stated that they will be able to review and come back with a decision. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. The board held a 5 minute break to review the bids. 10:Qp a.m. Returned to regular session. The low bid was from Nebraska Machinery Company. Schuppan made a motion and Quandt seconded to accept the low bid from Nebraska Machinery Company. Arnald, I�ancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. Mr. Quandt questioned how the road prajects were coming. Mr. Sherlock stated that the w�ather has been decent and Gary Smith Construction has completed 10 miles af averlays and they have been able to complete some of the armor coating. She distributed information ta the baard members and shaw�d how much sugar was in various bottles of pop. The power point presentation is to start the campaign to make people aware of how much sugar there is in sweetened drinks. 10. TERRY CONNICK— DONIPHAN AREA DEVELOPMENT CORP— DISCUSSION REGARDING NEW �VENT CENTER (SCHUPPAN) POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING GRANT OPPORTUNITIES FOR DONIPHAN EV�NT CENT�R — Mr. Schuppan stated that the Doniphan Economic Development Corp represented by Terry Connick is promoting an events center for poniphan. Mr. Connick distributed information to the board members informing them of the proposed events center for poniphan. It will house various meeting rooms the City Clerk's Office, a board room, a senior center and the main hall is 6,800 square feet. They will be able to hold several events at the same time. The community approved a 1% sales tax for the constructian of the building and they have s�t aside $100,000.00 for the land. I 3
