who warked on the World War II committee stated that this project is to be funded by <br /> the excess dollars fram the hero flights. They were not sure how this would turn out but <br /> if there were extra dallars they wanted the funds to go to the veteran's park. In the past <br /> the county has contributed to the maintenance of the park. <br /> Mr. Shuda stated that the picnic shelters are in bad condition and rusted through and <br /> need to b� replaced. He stated that Mr. Quandt has worked with the city building <br /> inspector and the committee met with the veterans club and they have approved the <br /> installatian of the shelters and now they need to have appraval from the county for the <br /> r�moval of the existing shelter and the installation of the new shelters <br /> Lancaster stated that it is necessary to have the county approve it because this is the <br /> county park. There are volunteers to do the work and they want to make it as simple as <br /> possible. <br /> Mr. Quandt will remove the old shelters and it will be $3,650.00 to rebuild the new ones. <br /> Mr. Ziola questianed if the concrete pads were in good condition and Mr. Shuda stated <br /> that the pads are fine and the new shelters will be the same size as the old structures. <br /> The old shelters will have to be declared surplus so they can be disposed of. <br /> McFarland made a motion and Arnold seconded to declare the old picnic shelters at the <br /> Veterans Park as surplus and allow for the removal and the construction of the new <br /> shelters. The old shelters have na value other than for scrap metal. Arnold, Lancaster, <br /> McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziala all vated yes and none vot�d no. <br /> Mation carried. <br /> Mr. Ponte stated that they have also purchased a new law mower and are replacing <br /> some of the sprinkler heads at the park. There will also be a new bench placed at the <br /> park. <br /> Mr. Purdy stated that there has also been discussion regarding moving the Korean War <br /> Memorial to the Veterans Park. There has been discussion that all of the memorials be <br /> located at the park. <br /> Lancaster stated that since the hero flights there are a number of projects that have <br /> come forward. <br /> 8 DISCUSS AND APPROVE DETAINEE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES AGREEMENT <br /> Fred Ruiz was present. This is to authorize the chair to sign the mental health services <br /> agreement. The bid from Odalys Perez was accepted. <br /> Arnold made a motion and Quandt seconded to authorize the chair to sign the <br /> agreement. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziala all <br /> voted yes and none voted no. Motian carried. <br /> 3 <br />
