It would be his responsibility to hire a replacement.
Lancaster noted that the committee did a lot of work on the job description. That decision would
need to be made and the committee could be in an advisory position.
Mr. Ziola asked Mr. Zitterkopf if the board should talk to Mr. Young and he stated that it would
not be fair to limit it to the current staff but he would be open to hire the right person and that
would not be an issue.
Quandt questioned when this change over to the county attorney would happen and Mr.
Zitterkopf stated that it would be effective as soon as the motion was approved.
Arnold stated the program will not change the work will go on he was not thinking of another
attorney but just the fact that the juvenile director would be under the county attorney.
Schuppan stated that there would not be room to even move the location there is no additional
space in the attorney building.
The salary issue was not discussed so it would need to be identified.
Mr. Arnold questioned if this should be tabled in order to talk to Mr. Young.
Lancaster noted that there is also the issue of the grant administration and if the administration
fees are paid to an employee while they are performing the duties during the interim this is not a
salary increase.
Mr. Zitterkopf stated that the current employees are doing their jobs and it may be a good idea
to table the issue so it can be discussed.
Mr. Quandt called for the question.
The vote on the motion to move the juvenile diversion department to the County Attorney's
office was taken.
