Board of Corrections June 7 2011 !. 10 -11 Budget discussion regarding line 1 0315 We bill DIHS monthly (guard rate) for transporting inmates. Remember, according to our union agreement, that union employees work 86 hours before OT kicks in. Most of the transport time that we do, falls into the extra hour window, but not at the overtime rate. Therefore, these "extra hours" are paid out of the salary line 1 0315, and not the overtime line 1 0500, because it is not coded to overtime in payroll or on our salary spreadsheet. Some of the hours do reach the overtime rate, at which DIHS is billed, but not nearly as many. Although it would be difficult to do, I can show these hours with each payroll, but maybe this will help explain it. Here is what we have billed out to DINS since July 1, 2010, for guard rate: July 10 $3349.73 Aug 10 $5690.39 Sept 10 $6045.93 Oct 10 $5642.27 Nov 10 $5309.28 Dec 10 $9333.79 Jan 11 $5661.88 Feb 11 $4552.07 Mar 11 $5751.30 Apr 11 $4523.99 May 11 $4451.50 June 11 not completed Total $60312.13 My question is, how do I show this in the budget line item and the budget worksheets? Would you like me to add a guard rate line at the bottom of the salary and benefits sheet with an estimated guard rate for the coming budget year and also add this amount in to 1 0315? 2.
