University <br />faculty member occurs on the 31st day of August following his or <br />her sixty-fifth birthday, or at the close of any academic year <br />thereafter. Until Jut, 1 , 1982, retirement at this age shall be <br />mandatory for all tenured faculty members. Effective July 1, <br />1982, mandatory retirement shah occur on the 31st day of August <br />following the faculty member`s seventieth bir~day unless o.her- <br />wise specified by federal law or unless special provision to the <br />~trary is approved in advance by the Board of Governors. <br />Voluntary full or partial retirement provisions are specified in <br />the Faculty :-landbook. <br />The motia-a was passed. <br />It was duly maved and seconded :hat i~he Board of Governors <br />authorizes a new statement on health insurance in the Faculty <br />Handbook as faltows: A health insurance plan, or plans, ~^- <br />cluding at least hospitalization and surgical benefits shall be <br />made atiaitsbie by the admirist^at:u.. ,.. a',' rcc.:lar facul±). <br />members. The identity of the insurer and the specifics of the <br />coverage will be determined from time to time by the administration <br />a#i~` ~witatian with the Facu}ty ,=ffairs Committee.
