Those functions are <br />outlined in the Instructions to Attorneys in Fact provided to you. <br />In addition to the. legal requirements and for the convenience of meeting the legal <br />requirements, it is suggested that you perform the following: <br />1. Have the Post Office forward mail to you. <br />2. Make an inventory of all assets and their values. Deliver a copy of this inventory to <br />all relatives and to your attorney. <br />3. Open a separate checking account; number the checks (if not already numbered) and <br />use the check register provided. Sign the checks "Michael L. Carruth OR Ronald L. Carruth POA <br />for Rosie Carruth". <br />4. Be sure to use this checking account for all deposited funds and paid bills; explain <br />on checks and deposit slips what is being paid or deposited (be specific); for example if you cash <br />a C.D. and buy a new one, deposit the money in the checking account and write a check for the new <br />C.D. <br />5. Have all banks give you a statement of the value of the funds, C.D.s etc. in Rosie <br />Carruth's name at the time your duties are initiated. Ask that 1099s be sent to you at the end of the <br />year. <br />6. Keep all bank statements, and after the checking account register is balanced, keep <br />the statement or give to this law office for safekeeping. <br />7. Obtain names, addresses, and phone numbers of all relatives. <br />8. If there is real estate, look for abstracts and put in a safe place. <br />9. Make a list of all creditors (include complete address). <br />10. Gather the income tax returns for the last two years. <br />11. Determine what insurance is being used (house, auto, renter/personal property, health, <br />life, nursing home supplements), when the premiums are due, and what is covered by each policy <br />and in what amounts. <br />
