(c) Vertical and horizontal separations between telecommunications facilities and other facilities shall be maintained as required by the NESC Section 32 Underground Conduit Systems. (b) Hand -holes shall be placed at as specified an plans and approved by Viaero- h no case shall conduit bend radius exceed 180 degrees between structures. Hand -holes shall be either a 30"x48"x24" precast composite concrete or a 30"x48"x36" precast composite concrete. Refer to project detail sheet 07 for specifications. Separations from Other Public Utilities and Drainage Facilities (a) Parallel separations are required to satisfy standards for utility trenching excavations and to provide for adequate maintenance operations. (1) The minimum parallel separation between telecommunications conduit and water pipe or drainage pipe and other pipe with a depth of cover of less than 6 feet shall be 5 feet. (2) The minimum parallel separation between telecommunications conduit and wastewater pipe or other pipe with a depth of cover of more than 6 feet shall be 10 feet (b) Vertical separation at utility crossings shall be as follows: (1) The minimum vertical separation between telecommunications conduit and City public utilities shall be 6 inches. Al crossings of natural and improved drainage ways, and irrigation ditches, shall meet the following conditions: (1) Telecommunications conduit shall be placed a minimum 48 inches below the invert of the drainage way or ditch. This minimum depth of cover shall apply whether or not the drainage ways an open system or contained within a culvert. (2) The telecommunications conduit shah be placed in a SDR -11 to accomidate placed conduits. When the drainage way or ditch is an open system, the sleeve shall extend a minimum horizontal distance of 10 feet beyond each side of the drainage way, measured from top of bank to top of bank. (3) When the drainage way or ditch is in a culvert, and the culvert openings greater than 5 feet, the sleeve shall extend a minimum horizontal distance of 5 feet beyond each side of the culvert, or shall extend a minimum horizontal distance equal to the vertical depth of the culvert, measured from the culvert invert to the final ground surface above the culvert.
