<br />Th~ Hall County Board of Supervisors met at 9:00 A.M. from adjourned
<br />session and by published call with Chairman Richard Hartman presiding.
<br />
<br />Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Frauen, Richard
<br />Hartman, Margaret Landis, Robert Leslie, Gary Quandt and Tammie Stelk.
<br />None were absent.

<br />Invocation was given by Leslie.
<br />
<br />Pledge of Allegiance was given.
<br />
<br />Minutes of August 2nd were accepted as received by motion of Frauen and
<br />seconded by Abernethy. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie,
<br />Quandt and Stelk voted yes. None voted no.
<br />
<br />Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz presented the quarterly
<br />keno audit prepared by McDermott & Miller. He also told the process
<br />of the State Board of Equalization and the recommendations being made
<br />for N~braska counties.
<br />
<br />County Assessor, Jan Pelland, was present and told of the calculation
<br />of the increase of 3% the state is recommending.
<br />The State Board of Equalization will have another hearing in Lincoln
<br />on Thursday. Quandt made motion, seconded by Landis to have Deputy
<br />Attorney Janulewicz to attend. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis,
<br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />
<br />The CWA contract was received, approved and authorized Chairman to
<br />sign by motion of Frauen, seconded by Landis. Abernethy, Frauen,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />
<br />Amotion of emergency need was made by Quandt, seconded by Landis to
<br />have a claim made, approved and processed today for Mid-Plains Center
<br />for $82,500. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />
<br />Landis made motion, seconded by Abernethy to sign agreement for
<br />engineering of asphalt projects. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis,
<br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />
<br />Public hearing date was. set for H&H Land Co. and Aurora Coop for
<br />August 23rd at 10:00 A.M. by motion of Frauen. Second made by Quandt.
<br />Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes,
<br />none voted no.
<br />
<br />Frauen made motion, seconded by Quandt to go into Board of Equalization
<br />at 10:04 A.M. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />
<br />10:11 A.M. returned to regular session by motion of Frauen, seconded by
<br />Quandt. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk
<br />voted yes, none voted no.
<br />
<br />Janpelland read a letter from Jerry Janulewicz concerning the waiver
<br />of 50% penalty for failure to file personal property tax return. Landis
<br />made motion, seconded by Stelk to deny the request for waiver of penalties
<br />for all. Abernethy, Frauen, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes,
<br />Hartman voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Assessor Pelland discussed both the Reappraisal budget and the Assessors
<br />budget with the Board.
<br />
<br />Jerry Janulewicz presented a purchase agreement fromu-Gary .C-cirotliersU & Ted.
<br />Robb for a part of Roush Subdivision, Block 3 for-T10, 000 :-Quandt maa.e---
<br />motion to reject bid, Stelk seconded the motion. Abernethy, Frauen,
<br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, Hartman voted no, Landis abstained.
<br />Motion to reject the bid carried.
<br />
<br />Doris Mason, County Treasurer, discussed the 1994-95 budget for her
<br />office.
<br />
<br />Recessed for lunch - to come back at 1:00 P.M.
<br />
<br />Received the. County Treasurers certificates of tax sales #4640B thru
<br />4673B on all properties showing two or more years delinquent taxes by
<br />motion of Frauen and second of Stelk. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman,
<br />Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
