<br />F20000302 <br /> <br />2c EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS LITIGATION STRATEGY CO. OF HALL VS. <br />SPIEHS AND 2d EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS NEGOTIATIONS WITH UNITED <br />STATES ATTORNEY'S OFFICE: Landis made a motion and Jeffries seconded to go <br />into executive session for the litigation strategy of Hall County vs. Spiehs and the <br />negotiations with the Untied States Attorney's Office. Arnold, Hartman, Humiston, <br />Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis and Logan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />9:20 a.m. executive session <br /> <br />10:10 a.m. Jeffries made a motion and Landis seconded to go out of executive session. <br />Arnold, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis and Logan all voted yes and <br />none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2e. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ON KENO ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES: Deputy County <br />Attorney Jerry Janulewicz presented a letter to the county board members concerning <br />the keno administrative duties. As County Attorney his salary is set by resolution prior to <br />the commencement of the term of office. He proposed two options 1. that some one <br />else be appointed to serve as keno administrator or 2. the county contract with some <br />one or 3. he would continue these duties with no additional compensation. If he <br />continues as the administrator he proposed that the amount that was allowed for his <br />salary as administrator could be used for office expenses. Lancaster made a motion <br />and Landis seconded to have Jerry Janulewicz continue as the keno administrator with <br />no additional compensation but to use the salary dollars for office expenses for the <br />county attorney's office. Arnold, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis and <br />Logan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Hartman called for public participation but no <br />one responded. <br /> <br />4.DISCUSSION - REQUEST FROM COSMETIC CORPORATION D.B.A. ACTION <br />CAB FOR AGREEMENT WITH COUNTY FOR CAB TICKETS: John Bartu, Vice <br />President of Comstock Corporation dba Action Cab has recently started a new cab <br />company in Grand Island. He sent a letter to the Hall County Board of Supervisors <br />requesting to be included in the cab ticket program provided by the Hall County Handi <br />Bus and Senior Citizens. He explained that on several occasions his company has <br />provided transpiration to Hall county residents who have requested that he accept the <br />cab tickets. He stated he had contacted Lois Stienke with Senior Citizens and he was <br />told that this is an exclusive contract. Mr. Bartu was provided with a copy of the current <br />agreement and he would like to have a similar contract. Landis requested that Mr. Bartu <br />work with Jerry Janulewicz and Lois Stienke with Senior Citizens to draw up a similar <br />agreement with Action Cab. <br /> <br />7. PRESENTATION BY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION: Pat Downs <br />with Economic Development presented the County Board with a plaque recognizing the <br />county's participation in the opening of the new Thompson Company in the previous <br />Nash Finch Building. <br /> <br />6. APPROVE RENEWAL OF HEALTH INSURANCE CONTRACT: The board received <br />information on the renewal of the health insurance with Mid-America from Lee Johnson. <br />The contract will now be renewed July first in order to correspond with the fiscal year. <br />
