<br />F 2000()133 <br /> <br />5d. COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION TO ACCEPT BID FOR PAINT STRIPER: Public <br />Works Director Dan Hostler met with Greg Vossler with Adams County and Ron <br />Skelenar with Buffalo County and reviewed the bid specifications for the 2000 Paint <br />Striping Machine. They recommended to purchase the E-Z Liner Model AL-550-EZ with <br />all options and no trade-in for $159,878.00. The total cost for each county will be <br />$53,292.67. Jeffries made a motion and Stelk seconded to accept the committee <br />recommendation and purchase the E-Z Liner paint striper. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br />The old truck from the paint striper will be used as a transport vehicle for the supplies <br />and Hostler requested to have the old paint striper equipment declared as surplus so it <br />can be sold. Jeffries made a motion and Lancaster seconded to declare the old paint <br />striper equipment as surplus so it can be sold. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5c. ACCEPT AND PLACE ON FILE A PETITION TO CLOSE A PORTION OF 60TH <br />ROAD: This petition was received and Dan Cimino, 1919 West John stated they would <br />like to see the road closed because of the problems of discharging of guns and loitering. <br />Lancaster made a motion and Jeffries seconded to accept the petition and refer it to the <br />public works director for review. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />6. 10:45 A.M. PUBLIC HEARING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT RENEWAL NTV FANT <br />BROADCASTING: Jeffries made a motion and Landis seconded to open the public <br />hearing for the conditional use permit for NTV Fant Broadcasting. Arnold, Hartman, <br />Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Regional Planning Director Chad Nabity stated this was a request to renew the <br />conditional use permit for the communication tower. It was issued March 14, 1995 with <br />Resolution #1619. The conditional use committee recommended to renew the permit for <br />ten years. Landis made a motion and Jeffries seconded to renew the permit. Stelk <br />questioned what the concerns had been five years ago. Jeff Matousek with Pappas <br />Communications stated that they are the current owners. He stated that there had been <br />concerns on air transportation five years ago, but there have not been any problems. <br />Discussion was held on the name change. Landis withdrew her motion and Jeffries <br />withdrew his second to approve the permit because of the change of ownership. This <br />will need to be republished to address the change of ownership. Landis made a motion <br />and Stelk seconded to table this matter until March 28 and to close the public hearing. <br />Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />11 :00 A.M. PUBLIC HEARING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR EMIL SCHAAF: <br />Jeffries made a motion and Stelk seconded to open the public hearing for Emil Schaaf <br />for a sand and gravel pumping conditional use permit. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Regional Planning Director Chad Nabity stated that this is a renewal of a previous <br />conditional use permit for the sand and gravel pumping operation. It was approved by <br />Resolution #1612 and the conditional use committee recommended to approve the <br />renewal. <br />
