This was the portion of the jail that was involved in the fire and in order to <br />replace the windows it will need to be brought up to jail standards. Arnold made a <br />motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the specifications and to set the bid opening <br />for June 12, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Lancaster and <br />Logan all voted yes and none voted no with Jeffries absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />15 ACCEPT RECOMMENDATION FROM CORRECTIONS DIRECTOR FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF VAN: The bid opening for the purchase of the van for the corrections <br />department was held May 21, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. Two bids were received that met the <br />specifications. One from Anderson Ford for a 2000 Ford Windstar in the amount of <br />$17,774.00 and one from Roy's Grand Dodge for a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan for <br />$17,750.00. Corrections Director Dave Arnold recommended to purchase the 2000 <br />Dodge from Roy's Grand Dodge, which is the low bid. Arnold made a motion and <br />Lancaster seconded to accept the bid from Roy's Grand Dodge and to purchase the <br />2000 Dodge Caravan for $17,750.00. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Lancaster <br />and Logan all voted yes and none voted no with Jeffries absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A brief discussion was held on the parking of county vehicles. They are not to set for <br />over 30 days before they are moved. <br /> <br />4a 10:00 A.M. BID OPENING FOR ASPHALT PROJECT 340(322) AMICK ACRES: <br />Lancaster made a motion and Eriksen seconded to open the bids for the asphalt project <br />340(322). Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and <br />none voted no with Jeffries absent. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, <br />Humiston, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and none voted no with Jeffries absent. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Chairman called for break for the Public Works Committee to met to consider the <br />bids for the asphalt project <br /> <br />Returned to session. Logan made a motion and Humiston seconded to accept the low <br />bid from Gary Smith Construction for $87,007.50 and that the county will pay 25% of <br />cost not to exceed $30,000.00. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Lancaster and <br />Logan all voted yes and none voted no with Jeffries absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />13 COMMENCE AUDIT OF MONTHLY CLAIMS AND ACTION ON CLAIM AUDIT: The <br />board members reviewed the claims and Arnold stated that the data processing claims <br />
