<br />(20020664 <br /> <br />Eriksen - He stated the health board met and accepted the $250,000.00 offer from the <br />county and to look for other office space. They will request equal funding from the city <br />and are waiting for their response. <br /> <br />Logan - No report <br /> <br />Jeffries - He reported that the justice committee and talked to the Doniphan village <br />board about the rate for hourly patrol of their town. This rate is the additional hours that <br />they request services. The rate has not been changed since 1988 and the committee <br />met and recommended changes and signing a three-year contract. The current rate is <br />at $14.00 per hour and it would be increased to $23.00 an hour. This is the same rate <br />that is charged to Cairo and Wood River. Hartman questioned what the City of Grand <br />Island pays. The sheriff does work for the city as far as delivering papers and law <br />enforcement but the county charges the small towns. He questioned if everyone is <br />being treated equally. The villages can have their own police force but have chosen not <br />to. The board will have to review and approve the contracts once they have been <br />completed. <br /> <br />Jeffries reported that the parks committee has met and they have an estimated from an <br />engineering firm to put in city water and sewer. The estimate was $190,000.00 and <br />$170,000.00 was budgeted. They will bring this to the full count board in December and <br />set the bid opening for January. Eriksen stated that he would like to see an overall plan <br />for the park. He stated that if the county is going to maintain the park they would need to <br />have sewer and water. <br /> <br />Hartman questioned if the camping area is eliminated if they would need this and he <br />questioned if the board wants to increase the camping area because so much has been <br />lost. He stated that the board needs to make this decision. <br /> <br />Jeffries stated that the building and grounds committee received a call requesting them <br />to met with Judge Luther and the interior decorator to go over the colors and Jeffries <br />stated he told them to proceed with the project. Jeffries stated she has waited a long <br />time for the remodeling and he is glad it is going to be completed. <br />Scott - He reported that he attended juvenile justice meeting and the public defender <br />committee meeting. <br /> <br />Lancaster - She attended the public defender committee meeting and corrections <br />negotiations meeting. She reported that Senior Citizens is working very hard to raise <br />funds for the capital improvements. She also reported that the audit committee met to <br />approve the equipment reserve requests. She also attended two days of meetings with <br />Workforce Development. She reminded the board members that the meeting will be <br />recessed until 6:00 p.m. tonight for the joint meeting with the city council regarding the <br />site for the ethanol plant. <br /> <br />Meeting recessed until 6:00 p.m. for the joint meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
