<br />,c20020614 <br /> <br />16 COMMENCE AUDIT OF BI WEEKLY PAY CLAIMS AND REGULAR CLAIMS AND <br />ACTION ON CLAIM AUDIT - The board reviewed the claims and Jeffries made a motion <br />and Hartman seconded to approve the claims as audited and authorize the clerk to pay. <br />Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and <br />none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />11 DISCUSS REQUEST FROM HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES ON BUILDING <br />CLOSINGS - County Clerk Marla Conley received a letter from Health and Human <br />Services requesting the board to indicate if they have a concern if the Health and Human <br />Service Office stays open in the event of inclement weather. Jeffries made a motion and <br />Arnold seconded to return the card with no concern that the Health and Human Services <br />Offices are open during inclement weather. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, <br />Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Building and Grounds Director Chuck Kaufman stated that the county does not have any <br />concern but we do have state offices in the Courthouse. The sidewalks are cleaned <br />around the county buildings even if the offices are closed. <br /> <br />BUILDING & GROUNDS COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION - Jeffries stated that the <br />building & grounds committee met and reviewed the bids from Leaman Mechanical and <br />Honeywell for the boiler maintenance service. This will be for a three-year contract. The <br />committee recommends that they accept the bid from Honeywell for $34,800.00 annual <br />fee. Jeffries made a motion and Logan seconded to accept the bid from Honeywell. <br />Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and <br />none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT - Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka reminded the board <br />members of the meetings and stated that the board meetings will be bi-weekly instead of <br />the second and fourth Tuesday's of the month. <br /> <br />Lancaster stated that Hall County will be having the United Way and Chad fund drives. <br />County Clerk Marla Conley stated that October 31,2002 will be "care to share day" in <br />Hall County. Coffee and cookies will be provided for all employees and they will be <br />asked to share with a contribution for the two agencies. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER REPORTS - Hartman - He reported that Mid Nebraska will be <br />holding the ribbon cutting this next week for their new building. They are excited about <br />the new addition. <br /> <br />Humiston - No report. <br /> <br />Eriksen - He stated that most of his meetings have been reported on. The long-range <br />planning committee met with the city and the consultants concerning the long-range <br />facility plan. There are a few suggested changes regarding the interlocal agreement. <br />The entire board will have the information to review. <br /> <br />Logan - He attended the long-range planning committee meetings. He stated that since <br />there would not be another meeting before Election Day he encourages everyone to get <br />out and vote. <br /> <br />6 <br />
