Lancaster stated that County <br />Attorney Jerry Janulewicz stated that the books do not have a value and they were <br />destroyed. Jeffries still expressed concern. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS - Hartman - no report <br /> <br />Humiston - He stated he attended the weed board meeting and also reported that he <br />attended a meeting concerning the interlocal agreement with the City and the County on <br />the Spillman project. The are hoping to get this matter resolved. Discussion was held <br />on the bid opening process that was followed by the Weed Control Authority. <br /> <br />Eriksen - He attended the long-range planning meeting and the Health Board meeting. <br /> <br />Arnold - No report <br /> <br />Jeffries - He stated he would like to have permission from the board to investigate the <br />land by the river and he suggested making this into a park. Hartman questioned if there <br />is access to the area. Lancaster stated that he could look into the matter and report <br />back if he wants to. <br /> <br />Logan - all reported on <br /> <br />Lancaster read the memo from County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz to Chuck Kaufman <br />concerning the books. Jeffries stated that he thought the county board should make the <br />final decision on this. <br /> <br />Scott questioned why this is an issue. When they remodel the old law library it would be <br />better to dispose of them if they are of no value rather than move to storage and then <br />have to dispose of them. They would not have to waste man-hours moving the books. <br /> <br />Lancaster - She reported that the computer committee issue that was brought to the <br />county board on the August 29th meeting was reviewed the agreement and County <br />Attorney Jerry Janulewicz determined that it would save money by using this agreement. <br />He offered to donate a portion of the costs that are in his budget to the computer <br />committee to pay the fees for the West Group contract. She stated that the contract was <br />signed. <br /> <br />Lancaster reported that the county picnic was held Sunday and it was a nice day. 460 <br />years of service were recognized and special recognition was awarded to Deputy <br />Assessor Joann Tagge, County Treasurer Doris Mason and Merle White with the Public <br />Works Department. <br /> <br />6 <br />
