<br />~20020218 <br /> <br />space for the GIS Department. The board members received a memo and a drawing <br />showing the changes. The cost would be about $1,300.00 and the labor would be done <br />by the building & grounds department. Most of the cost would be for the electrical <br />services. Jeffries made a motion and Humiston seconded to approve the remodeling <br />project for the GIS Department. Humiston questioned why the GIS committee was not <br />aware of this. Logan stated that the GIS committee should discuss this. Jeffries <br />withdrew his motion and Humiston withdrew his second. Jeffries made a motion and <br />Humiston seconded to table this matter until the next meeting. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, <br />Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Chairman Lancaster stated that the board received a request from the Public Works <br />Union to start negotiations. She stated that Bud Jeffries is chair of the Public Works <br />Department and she appointed Bud and Jerry Janulewicz to start the negotiations. <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT - Stacey Ruzicka Board Assistant included the <br />progress reports in the packets. She requested that the evaluations be completed and <br />returned to her. She reminded the board that the computer committee, senior citizens, <br />and the Mid-Plains finance committee will meet. She reported that HeadStart invited the <br />board to participate in the "Week of the Child" by reading a story to the Head Start <br />children. She also reported that the public comment on the piping plover has been <br />opened. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS - Hartman - He attended the corrections meeting, the <br />audit committee and the reuse meeting. <br /> <br />Humiston - He stated his meetings have all been reported on. <br /> <br />Eriksen - He attended the jail work-study session, the NRD meeting, the CASA and <br />Reuse meetings. <br /> <br />Logan - He attended the corrections steering meeting and the work-study session. He <br />stated in the last two weeks he has had three calls from people because they are <br />dissatisfied with the quality of the sound on the board meetings that are aired on TV. He <br />would like to refer this to the building & grounds for estimates to upgrade the system. <br />The money is set aside. Stacey stated that they are working on this. <br /> <br />Jeffries - He attended the jail work-study session, the building & grounds meeting and <br />he stated that he had talked to Chuck Kaufman concerning the sound in boardroom. <br /> <br />Arnold - He attended the corrections steering committee and the jail work-study session. <br />Lancaster - She reported that she toured the jail facility in Post, Texas. She also said <br />she received a call about the lighting of the CourtHouse and how nice it looks. <br /> <br />NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS - Chairman Lancaster called for new or unfinished <br />business and no on responded. <br /> <br />12 <br />
