<br />F03581 <br /> <br />11 INSURANCE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE 90-DA Y <br />EXTENSION OF HEALTH BENEFITS-Hartman stated that the insurance committee <br />received information concerning a 90 day extension of coverage for health insurance. <br />All of the members of the committee approved the extension. This is a provision in the <br />county health plan and can be approved on a case by case basis. Hartman made a <br />motion and Humiston seconded to approve the 90-day extension of benefits. Arnold, <br />Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes and none voted <br />no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5 PUBLIC WORKS-10:00 A.M. BID OPENING ASPHALT PROJECTS-The following <br />bids were received and read: <br /> <br /> NOT! <br />BIDDER S LOCUST PROJECT AUSTIN & DEVAAVE AIRPORT RD TOTAL TIED <br />JILASPHALT $101,125.00 $9,294.75 $!55,135.60 $265,555.36 NO <br />GARY SMITH $93,187.50 $9,308.00 $152,335.11 $254,830.61 TIED <br />CONSTRUCTION <br /> <br />Jeffries made a motion and Eriksen seconded to refer the bids to the public works <br />committee. They will review the bids and come back with a recommendation today. <br />Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes and none <br />voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5b PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION ON STATE BID FOR <br />ASPHALT CRACK SEALING MACHINE-Jeffries stated that the county needs to replace <br />the heated asphalt rubberized asphalt crack sealing machine, better known as the tar <br />bucket. This can be purchased on the state bid from Rose Equipment. Jeffries made a <br />motion and Arnold seconded to approve the purchase of the crack-sealing machine from <br />Rose Equipment in the amount of $21,050.00. Arnold stated that this amount was <br />approved in the budget. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and <br />Rye all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5c EMERGENCY ITEM TO SET BID OPENING-Jeffries made a motion and Eriksen <br />seconded to set the bid opening for October 7,2003, at 10:00 a.m. for a 1999 or newer <br />crawler loader with 500 hours or less. The bids are to be received by Monday the 6th of <br />October at 5:00 p.m. Jeffries stated that all bids will be considered and it will not be <br />limited to used equipment. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and <br />Rye all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />13 AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN ADMINISTRATIVE AGREEMENT FOR HEALTH <br />INSURANCE PLAN-County Clerk Marla Conley reported that this was referred to <br />County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz and he expressed concern on changing the <br />agreement at this time. Eriksen made a motion and Arnold seconded to table this item. <br />Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes and none <br />voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS RECOMMENDATION ON BID-The bid were reviewed and Jeffries <br />made a motion and Eriksen seconded to accept the bid from Gary Smith Construction in <br />the amount of $254,830.61. It was questioned if there was a completion date and <br />Jeffries stated it was November 15th. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, <br />Lancaster and Rye all voted yes and none voted no.
