<br />'poa091 <br /> <br />16 COMMENCE AUDIT OF 81 WEEKLY PAY CLAIMS AND EARLY CLAIMS AND <br />ACTION ON CLAIM AUDIT - The board members reviewed the early claims and payroll <br />claims. Jeffries made a motion and Humiston seconded to approve the claims and <br />authorize the clerk to pay. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and <br />Rye all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT - Board assistant Stacey Ruzicka reminded the <br />criminal justice committee of the meeting after the board meeting at the sheriff's <br />department. She also reminded them of a computer committee meeting at 8:00 a.m. <br />Wednesday and a meeting with NRD at the park. There will also be an audit committee <br />meeting on Friday the 14th. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS - Hartman He stated he attended the meetings at Mid <br />Plains Mid Nebraska Individual Services. He reported that there is a bill that has been <br />introduced to change the service regions to three for the entire state. They are opposed <br />to this legislation and have sent letters to Senator Jones concerning this. Lancaster <br />stated that Senior Citizens is also opposed to this and she will be testifying against this <br />legislation. This measure would put the elderly and poor elderly at risk and be an <br />injustice to the people of Nebraska. <br /> <br />Humiston - He attended the weed board meeting, the computer inter/ocal meeting. He <br />reported that the according to the interlocal contract they are on tract budget wise and <br />the only concern is the amount of time that is was taking to do the mapping. <br /> <br />Eriksen - He attend the public works meeting and the NACO meeting in Kearney. He <br />reported that there were good sessions and they learned new things. The Ag-Iand <br />Board held their reorganization meeting in Loup City. The health department is starting <br />on the bio-terrorism programs and the small pox vaccinations. He reported that the <br />election committee met and the cost of the last election was $43,000.00 and when the <br />billing to the other entities was completed the cost to Hall County was $7,700.00 <br /> <br />Rye - He attended the Midland Area Agency on Aging and the legislation to change the <br />regions was discussed there. He attended the juvenile committee meeting and they <br />discussed the contract that was signed today and he also attended the library board <br />meeting. The library may be contacting the computer committee concerning the wireless <br />computers for the bookmobile. <br /> <br />Jeffries - He attended the public work committee meeting and they discussed various <br />projects. Including the roads at CAAP and the bridge projects. They have good ideas <br />and it is a good program. He talked to County Assessor Jan Pelland concerning the <br />filing system that she wants to install and the engineer submitted a final report that they <br />will not have to do anything to the building for the installation of the filing system it will <br />support the weight. They will be starting the installation of the window for the driver's <br />license digital camera next week. He also attended the local emergency planning <br />committee meeting and reported that they need volunteer for the small pox shots. <br />They are also asking the county to take a strong position to address chemical spills on <br />the Platte River. They are looking at applying for federal funds to obtain an airboat to <br />use on the river if there is a spill, but there are question who would be responsible if this <br />happens. <br />
