UPDATE COURTHOUSE CONSTRUCTION - Loren reported that the construction is <br /> going well and they are on schedule. They are working on the framing on the third floor <br /> and have put up sheetrock on the first floor and sone on the second floor. They are also <br /> doing some painting . They are working on the elevators in the basement. Discussion <br /> was held on the ramp and weather issues. <br /> Lancaster said they need to hear from the sheriff and corrections if there are any <br /> concerns. Todd stated they had concern on the gate it important to have visibility to <br /> insure security issues. Todd stressed that he security camera locations will be important <br /> when they are unloading the vans. <br /> 9 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON SURPLUS 2006 CHEVROLET PICKUP <br /> AND 1999 FORD PICKUP— Quandt noted that these 2 pickups are scheduled to go to <br /> auction today and questioned if they could be used by the Assessor's office. <br /> Loren said that they want to keep the 2006 Chevrolet pickup and use it here at Building <br /> and Grounds. He said the 1999 is rough and has a lot of rust. <br /> Discussion was held and they will need to find another solution for the assessor. <br /> Sorensen made a motion and Quandt seconded to amend Resolution 26-019 and retain <br /> the 2006 Chevrolet pickup for the Building and Grounds department. Hurst, Lancaster, <br /> Peterson, Quandt, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes, and no one voted no. <br /> Bredthauer was absent. Motion carried. <br /> Held a board of corrections meeting <br /> Adjourned the Board of Correction's and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> 6 PAUL ESSMAN, CAPITAL CITY CONCEPTS LLC PRESENTATION AND POSSIBLE <br /> ACTION — Peterson said he talked to NACO and to Jerry Pigsley regarding the salary <br /> survey and Mr. Essman is here. He has talked to Paul regarding the salary study and he <br /> comes with the recommendation from NACO and Jerry Poigsley. Paul also did the <br /> salary study before. Ron said he gave Paul the guidelines. <br /> Mr. Essman said he has worked in the field since 1986. He provided a handout to the <br /> board members. He noted on the first page ae the parameters that Ron provided to <br /> him. Under Nebraska State Statues counties are to appry comparable wages and <br /> benefits and there are actually 6 that fit because Hamilton and Merick ae too small but <br /> they can be used as a local array. Lancaster and Sarpy are more than twice the size of <br /> Hall County so would be too big. <br /> Ron noted that Hall County draws employees from Hamilton and Merrick Counties. <br /> Paul said those counties could be local arrays, and the others would be the commission <br /> standard. Paul said he did a salary survey for Sarpy County last year. <br /> 7 <br />
