Quarterly Report of
t:N Household Library Cards
x
t
Issued to Hall County Residents
Grand Island Outside of Grand Island
Public Library
APRIL- JUNE 2026
To Hall County Board of Supervisors:
As of July 1, 2026 there are a total of 1,468 Head of Household Hall County patron accounts. We
added 9 new Head of Household accounts this past quarter between April 1 and June 30, 2026; 13
Head of Household Accounts were deleted; 32 cardholders were modified from other borrower
types due to moving/change of address. 19 moved to/from other patron types. This results in a net
gain of 15 accounts from the previous report of 1,453 HCH accounts.
Our automated reporting of household cards is based on one member of each household manually
coded as "head of household" no matter how many in the household have cards.
The library continues to promote to all Hall County residents that they can get their Library card
for free. The Grand Island Public Library also is fine-free. The library provides online services
available from www.gilibrary.org. We have added additional services with Newbank. People can
login with their library card and pin and read the Independent. It is the printed version. You can
also read USA Today, and Lincoln and Omaha newspapers, plus some other communities for free.
The library's 2026 Summer Reading Program theme is "Unearth a Story" and there are programs
for all ages. Check it out at www.gilibrary.org. Patrons can log their reading minutes on Beanstack.
You can earn rewards and chances for prizes. We also have a new Library to Museum Program
where adult patrons with a card in good standing can check out a family pass to go to Stuhr
Museum, Imagination City Children's Museum, or Epic Discovery Center. Have you checked out
the Makerspace? Call today for a tour 385-5333. The Library Board has a new president, Daryl
Kelley, vice president is Barbara Beck, and secretary is Benjamin McCarty.
Balance April 1, 2026 1,453
April-June added 15, deleted 13,
and modified 32 cardholders, 19 +15
moved
Balance July 1, 2026 1,468
Celine D.
