HALL COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONER MEETING JULY 28, 2026 <br /> The Hall County Board of Commissioners convened July 28, 2026, by published call in <br /> the County Board meeting room, 200 South Sycamore, Grand Island, Nebraska. <br /> CALL TO ORDER- The meeting was called to order by Chair Ron Peterson <br /> INVOCATION - Jane Richardson gave the invocation. <br /> PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — The Pledge of Allegiance was given in unison. <br /> ROLL CALL— Present on roll call were Karen Bredthauer, Butch Hurst, Pam Lancaster, <br /> Gary Quandt, Ron Peterson, and Jane Richardson. Scott Sorensen was not present. <br /> County Attorney Marty Klein. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW— Chair Peterson read the notice for a public <br /> meeting subject to the open meetings laws of the State of Nebraska. The requirements <br /> for an open meeting are posted on the door to his left and notices are on the front table <br /> for your information. <br /> AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION —Chair Peterson stated the affidavit of publication was <br /> received. <br /> Chair Peterson stated that the Hall County Board of Commissioners has the discretion <br /> to change the order of the agenda items. <br /> REQUEST TO RESERVE TIME — Chair Peterson called for anyone regarding a request <br /> to reserve time on a specific agenda item and no one responded. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA- Bredthauer made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the <br /> following by consent agenda. <br /> 1. Placed on file the minutes from the July 14, 2026 meeting <br /> 2. 7a waived the county bidding policy and follow state bidding guidelines to obtain <br /> informal bids for the 2026 — 2027 scrap tire grant tire hauling & authorize the public <br /> works department to electronically accept the scrap tire grant if awarded. <br /> 3. 7B Placed on file the roads Department 2025 — 2026 Quarterly report <br /> 4. 7 C Placed on file the Roads Department 2025 2026 annual report <br /> 5. 7D Approved & authorized the chair to sign the work change order for engineer <br /> with Bowman Consultants for project C40(389), C40 376) and C40(561) <br /> 6. 8B Approved and authorized the chair to sign the Bobcat lease for Hall County <br /> Park <br /> 7. 13 Scheduled the public hearing on August 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. for <br /> discontinuing of service for Hall County Rural Transit <br /> 8. 15 pulled item #15 for discussion <br /> 1 <br />
