HALL COUNTY WEED CONTROL <br /> ROBERT SCHULTZ - SUPERINTENDENT <br /> 2807 W 2'`'D ST GRAND ISLAND, NE 68803 <br /> PHONE: 385-5097 <br /> 7-1-2026 <br /> The Hall County Weed Board met on July 1, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. for the monthly meeting. <br /> Members present were Wayne Foster, Gary Jacobson, Don Shuda, Mitch Binfield and <br /> Rob Schultz. <br /> The meeting opened at 9:00 a.m. The minutes were approved with a motion by Gary. <br /> Wayne seconded. Motion passed. <br /> Claims for June were read and approved with a motion by Gary and seconded by Wayne. <br /> Motion passed. June expenses to date are: $5,751.48 and income was $8,948.95 <br /> Public Participation: <br /> Rob introduced the new Weed Board members, Don Shuda and Mitch Binfield. <br /> Old Business: <br /> • Platte River Resilience Fund—fund raising continues for phragmites control <br /> along the river. Currently about $1.6 million in the fund. <br /> New Business: <br /> • Rob went over his monthly report. <br /> • Rob went over the helicopter survey photos of the Platte River. <br /> • Rob issued 10-day notices on a couple properties. They were controlled by the <br /> landowners. <br /> • The Weeds of the Great Plains Books will be delivered on pallets and stored here. <br /> • Rob has been spraying on days when weather allows. Still have a few jobs to do. <br /> • Discussed the Equipment and Improvement Reserve Fund. $5,200.00 was <br /> transferred into the fund. <br /> • The Weed Department budget meeting will be held on July 21. <br /> • PVWMA Update —airboat has been doing some spraying in western Hall County <br /> and will be working east while there is water in the river. The USFWS vegetation <br /> control release will end at the end of June, so the river will probably go dry. The <br /> helicopter sprayed from Columbus to Elm Creek in the middle part of June. <br /> A motion to adjourn was made by Wayne and seconded by Gary. Motion carried. <br /> The next meeting will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 9 a.m. <br /> Gary Jacobson, Secretary <br />
