HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING JULY 28, 2026 <br /> 9:05 A.M. Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL-Present on roll call were Karen Bredthauer, Butch Hurst, Pam Lancaster, <br /> Ron Peterson, Gary Quandt, and Jane Richrdson. Scott Sorensen was not present. <br /> County Attorney Marty Klein and Board Assistant Kim Dugan were also present. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW- Chair Peterson read the notice of open meeting <br /> law. <br /> REQUEST TO RESERVE TIME-Chair Peterson called for anyone from the audience if <br /> they had a request to reserve time and no one responded. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION-The affidavit of publication was received. <br /> MINUTES- Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the minutes of <br /> the July 14, 2026, meeting. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt, and <br /> Richardson all voted yes, and no one voted no. Scott Sorensen was not present. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION- Chair Peterson called for public participation, and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 3.COUNTY ASSESSOR —TAX CORRECTION NOTICES # 942 — County Assessor <br /> Kristi Wold presented tax correction # 942 asking for a motion from the board to <br /> authorize the chair to sign. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to authorize the chair to sign tax <br /> correction #942. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt, and Richardson all <br /> voted yes, and no one voted no. Sorensen was not present. Motion carried. <br /> 4.DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE LATE HOMESTEAD FILINGS <br /> (LETTERS SUBMITTED FROM THE FOLLOWING) <br /> a) Wanda Knuth, 1519 Peach Street, Grand Island <br /> b) John Osenbaugh, 1817 N Huston Ave, Grand Island <br /> c) Jacquelyn Hahn, 3549 Graham Ave, Grand Island <br /> d) Carol Staley, 115 S Buffalo Road, Doniphan <br /> e) Arthur Beed, 511 Saturn Street, Alda <br /> f) Paul Hongsereier, 1705 S. Blaine, Grand Island <br /> g) Darlene Hadenfeldt, 2080 N NE Hwy 11 <br /> Kristi stated that they received 7 late homestead applications with letters stating why <br /> they were late. With this information the board can approve the exemptions. <br />
