Caroline tower. Chief did not do the blueprints so they have to go back to the <br /> manufacturer. Don was on the phone last night working on this. The committee <br /> approved to continue paying Don. Mike noted that Chief was not making the blueprints <br /> and now they must go back to the manufacturer. In his mind the cemetery is not done <br /> until the tower is done. He noted that Don will be gone by the end of the year. <br /> Lancaster is concerned that we have come this far and if he cemetery is not finished to <br /> our expectations, she does not have a problem with having someone oversee this. We <br /> made an agreement that the veterans committee was going to oversee the funds. <br /> They worked hard to get the matching fund for the original cemetery, <br /> Ponte said Don has been active and it will only be for a few more months. <br /> Hurst there is a concern on the statue and the flag. <br /> Mr. Ponte said that is correct and if the board has concerns, they need to contact John <br /> Hilgert. <br /> Hurst ask at what point do we stop. Do you think that the cemetery was not going to be <br /> built? There are others that oversee the cemetery. <br /> Quandt said he thought that the tower was already started. <br /> Ponte stated that the blueprint must be made. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Hurst seconded to stop the additional pay for Don Shuda for <br /> the cemetery construction. <br /> Mike Ponte said the board is voting on something they do not have control over. <br /> Sorensen ask Mr. Ponte if he thinks it will take another year for the tower and will they <br /> nee to have someone else over see this. Mike said he hopes it will not. The blueprint <br /> must be done. <br /> Mike said if the tower is done there will be no need for the committee, it has helped over <br /> the last 3 years. He noted that the architect resigned so there have been issues. <br /> Either way the tower will be done and this will be the last year the committee will be <br /> needed. <br /> Lancaster said there were state and federal funds and they did receive all of funds. She <br /> noted that some of the funds went for the eagle statue and the committal shelter and <br /> they also had trees removed, this was all part of the project. The only thing that is left is <br /> the caroline tower and it will be very nice when completed. When that is done there will <br /> be no need for the committee and the extra pay. <br /> Bredthauer ask where the extra funds came fund.
