HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATIO MEETING MAY 19, 2026 <br /> 9:05 A.M. Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL-Present on roll call were Karen Bredthauer, Butch Hurst, Ron Peterson, <br /> Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Scott Sorensen were present. Pam Lancaster was <br /> not present. Also present were Chie deputy County Attorney Dave Medlin, and Board <br /> Assistant Kim Dugan. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW- Chair Peterson read the notice of open meeting <br /> law. <br /> REQUEST TO RESERVE TIME-Chair Peterson called for anyone from the audience if <br /> anyone had a request to reserve time and no one responded. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION-The affidavit of publication was received. <br /> MINUTES- Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the minutes <br /> of the May 5, 2026, meeting. Bredthauer, Hurst, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and <br /> Sorensen all voted yes, and no one voted no. Lancaster was not present. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION-Chair Peterson called for public participation, and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 3.COUNTY ASSESSOR TAX CORRECTION NOTICES — DISCUSSION & <br /> POSSIBLE ACTION TO AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN TAX CORRECTION NOTICES <br /> #927 TO #930 - Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve tax <br /> correction notices #927 TO #930 and authorize chair to sign. Bredthauer, Hurst, <br /> Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes, and no one voted <br /> no. Lancaster was not present. Motion carried. <br /> 4.COUNTY TREASURER DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE <br /> EXEMPTION APPLICAIOTNS FOR <br /> A) GOODWILL INDUSTRIES FOR A 2020 FORD TRANSIT 250 TO BE USED <br /> FOR THE DISABILITY PROGRAM <br /> B) ABUNDANT LIFE CHRISTIAN CENTER FOR A 2018 ROCK SOLID CARGO <br /> TRAILER TO BE USED FOR CAMPS OR CHURCH EVENTS <br /> County Treasurer Alaina Verplank presented the exemption forms for Goodwill <br /> Industries for a 2020 Ford transit to be used for the disability program. She explained <br /> that they no longer have the behavioral program but still have the disability program, so <br /> she has approved this as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202. <br /> Abundant Life Christian Center for a 2018 cargo trailer to be used to camping and <br /> church events. She has approved this as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is <br /> requesting a motion from the board to approve. <br /> 1 <br />
