9F- FACILITIES UPDATE- Loren Humphrey stated they are spraying weeds and
mowing, getting flowers planted at the park. He stated they will be framing walls in next
couple weeks at the courthouse inside the building, and they already have most walls
framed in the basement. They are starting to install duct work in couple locations.
Poured front entryway sidewalk out and the columns for the canopy. Starting in May
they are going to start tearing up pine street and redo where the parking lot is going to
be. They are also going to start working on some landscaping around the building as
well. They will be running electricity and sewer in the next week, he stated a lot going on
and it is exciting it is all coming together.
10 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON CHANGE ORDER NUMBER 9, CCP NO
023 ANNEX PAVING, SIDEWALK AND SALLY PORT UPDATES. CCP NO 024
UPDATE TO FLAGPOLE AND LIGHTING. CCP NO 025 CHANGES TO SWING DOOR
UPDATE-Peterson stated there are 3 changes the primary one was annex paving,
sidewalk in sallyport the cost is about $85,000, basically they expanded the drive out of
the sallyport and also repouring some of the parking lot in front of the annex building
because it is tore up, so going to do at the same time.
Loren Humphrey stated there is that sidewalk that goes across the driveway that has
been really broke up it will be better in winter for people to walk on, there is a lot of
traffic on there from the County Attorneys and it has been a trip hazard for a long time,
since we are going to close with the concrete I thought would be a good time to fix the
sidewalk.
Loren stated that the flagpole they are primarily adding lighting to it. Loren stated it is a
40-foot flagpole with 3 flags.
Quandt asked if there is room for 3 flagpoles as when you have 3 flags flying together,
they beat each other and get worn out quickly and get torn.
Richardson made a motion to accept change order 9 with CCP no 23, 24, and 25,
Sorensen seconded the motion. Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen
all voted yes, and Bredthauer and Quandt voted no, 5 yes votes, 2 no votes. Motion
Carried.
11 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON CONTRACT CHANGE PROPOSAL TO
REMOVE COURTROOM-JURY BOX, SEATING THAT THE SUPPLIER HAD
ORGINALLY INCLUDED IN SCOPE- Peterson stated the other item to talk about there's
a change in the original proposal of the people that are doing the furniture in the
courthouse that is connected as part of the project The judges have determined
from our meeting the other day that they would like the jury boxes to be loose chairs
rather than chairs that are tied
down or bolted down. Primarily two things. One is handicap accessibility. And the
second thing is if they have a situation where they have maybe two or three
Alternates, right? You could have room for alternates. You'd have extra chairs for them.
And the other thing is I think the same thing is in the witness chair.
That change is a credit to us of 57,546 and then we will buy those separately.
