Peterson asked Loren to put on agenda for next meeting and bring a list of who <br /> wants/needs furniture, so they have an idea how many they are talking about. <br /> 6B DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO GO TO BID FOR REPAIRS ON THE <br /> HANDICAP RAMP AT THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING-Loren Humphrey stated with <br /> courthouse project they are not going to be doing anything with that sidewalk so now a <br /> good time to rehabilitate the handicap ramp, it has holes in it. <br /> Peterson said they all need to look at it and put on agenda for next meeting. <br /> 6C-FACILITIES UPDATE-Loren stated the Park will be opening this weekend and ready <br /> for campers. Humphrey also stated that the courthouse project is moving along good, <br /> they poured the second floor, put some installation in basement and painted in some of <br /> the electrical rooms, and drywall is going up, they did footings for the canopy. Humphrey <br /> stated they will have 30 men framing walls soon. <br /> 5 PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE-Don Robb stated they were working on project number <br /> 557 at Wildwood west of 281 grading project, should be done by end of week, cleaning <br /> ditches, stacking gravel in many locations so will be ready to go. Crack sealing on Sky <br /> Park and did some bridges. Robb stated they are working on some culverts and getting <br /> to them before they cave in. Robb stated the next project they are working on is out on <br /> Husker next to Schuappsville clear to Old Potash going to shape up two miles, he <br /> stated he did talk to Mr. Dobesh and that is where we are headed. Saturday is the tire <br /> recycling day from 8 to noon <br /> 16 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING EAST CAPITAL AVENUE AND <br /> HIGHWAY 30-Quandt stated that the Sheriff brought this up a few months ago. Sheriff <br /> Josh Berlie stated some statistics at that intersection he stated they have had two in <br /> 2026 in the last 10 years 6 total accidents at or near that intersection, 3 of them being <br /> fatalities. Two fatalities at the curve both were intoxicated and contributing factor, <br /> accidents at curve itself and a few at the intersection. <br /> Peterson asked what they recommend the board do about this <br /> Quandt stated he would like them to write a letter to the State to fix this intersection or <br /> do something about it, not sure if going to take a stop light or what he stated. Quandt <br /> stated how many people have to die there before we look at it. It is a county road that <br /> goes into the State. <br /> Richardson made a motion for the Board to write and send a letter to the State <br /> concerning a dangerous intersection at Capital Ave. and Highway 30 and authorize the <br /> Board Chair to sign. Quandt seconded the motion. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Peterson, Quandt, Richardson, Sorensen all voted yes, Lancaster <br /> was absent. 6 Yes votes, none voted no. Motion Carried. <br />
