6B) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING COUNTY BOARD VOTING
SYSTEM - The voting display is not working at all and cannot be repaired. Information
was included in the packet for the new system. Quandt noted that the switches have
dual amps. There is money in building and land to cover the cost.
Lancaster made a motion and Richardson seconded to move forward with the new
county board voting system. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt,
Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes, and no one voted no. Motion carried
UPDATEs Loren reported that last week they lost power at the house. They found that
the damage was under the house in the crawl space. It has been fixed and they had to
have a new meter installed. They also found that there is a sewer pipe under the house
that has been leaking he called O'Hara's and they came Friday to fix the pipe. There is
also a copper elbow that is leaking but they will have to wait until it dries out to fix it.
The sewer pump outside failed and the pressure was too high, so it started leaking.
The pump has been cleaned and repaired.
He also reported that they ae having problems with grubs in the lawn and have been
using insecticide to treat it he ask for any other suggestions. May have to treat the
whole park.
B) UPDATE — COURTHOUSE — Loren reported that the water line to the Courthouse
may have to be interrupted but he is waiting for a final report. The foundation for the
sally port is on top of the water line. They are suggesting putting in a sleeve in the line
so they do not have to move the water line. He wanted to bring it to the board's
attention.
Loren reviewed the change orders. He said that the basement was not going to be
painted and they were not going to seal the floor. He recommended seeing what the
cost would be. It would be hard to keep clean if it is not painted and the floor is not
sealed. The judges will be using that area. He wants to paint and seal the floor and it
will be easy to maintain. May have to build a courtroom down there.
Ron said the judges will move their offices in that area while they are doing remodeling
in the courthouse. There.
Bo contacted him about the Annex Building concrete they reviewed the area and there
is a bad sidewalk that needs to be replaced before the parking lot is done. On the
sallyport on the original drawing it did not allow much room for the vans to come out so
they will widen that so the vans will have better access to get in and out.
Richardson made a motion and Lancaster seconded to ratify the change order#8 and
CCP #20 and #21. Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes
and Bredthauer and Quandt voted no. Motion carried.
6
