HALL COUNTY BOARD OF CORRECTIONS MEETING JANUARY 13, 2026 <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into a Board of Corrections <br /> meeting with a roll call vote. <br /> Present on roll call were Karen Bredthauer, Butch Hurst, Pam Lancaster, Ron Peterson, <br /> Gary Quandt, and Scott Sorensen. Jane Richardson was not present. Also, present <br /> were Corrections Director Todd Bahensky and County Attorney Marty Klein and Kim <br /> Dugan Board Assistant. <br /> NOTICE OF MEETING LAW-Chair Peterson read the notice of open meeting law <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION-The affidavit of publication was received. <br /> MINUTES OF THE MEETING- Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to <br /> approve the minutes of January 13, 2026, meeting, Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, <br /> Quandt, Peterson, and Sorensen all voted yes, no one voted no. Richardson was not <br /> present. motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION-Chair Peterson called for public participation, and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 3. CORRECTIONS DIRECTORS REPORT-Todd Bahensky stated that their numbers <br /> are at 243, US Marshall are at 93, 15 ICE, 128 local inmates, 8 from other counties, 9 <br /> probation sanctions. <br /> Quandt ask if they are down any employees and Todd said they are down 5 but have <br /> new ones starting. <br /> 4. SET BID OPENING FOR COMPETITIVE SEALED BIDS FOR JAIL HVAC <br /> REPLACEMENT FOR MARCH 24, 2026, AT 10:00 A.M. WITH BIDS DUE MARCH 23, <br /> 2026, at 5:00 p.m. — Lancaster made a motion and Sorensen seconded to set the bid <br /> opening for the jail HVAC replacement for March24, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with bids dues <br /> March 23, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. <br /> Todd said they set the bid opening for March 24, to allow more time for the pre-bid <br /> conference and additional time before the bid opening for the bidder to prepare the bid <br /> documents. He included a copy of the specifications, but they are too detailed to read, <br /> they are printed on 42' x 30' paper. The bids will be opened at a regular board meeting <br /> instead of a Board of Corrections. <br /> Todd reviewed the specs and noted they have 3 manufactures that have been approved <br /> and he has a list of 7 contractors. If they have a product that will full fit the <br /> specifications, they can contact the engineer and they can approve that one. It is not <br /> limited. <br />
