FACILITIES UPDATE — Loren Humphrey reported that they are putting the first floor
down and putting up the steel for the seconded floor. Next week they will start putting
the second floor down. They will be working on the basement, part of the basement
wall is still out to gain access. The weather has certainly been cooperating.
Lancaster noted that employees noted how neat and clean the construction site was.
There were issues on Court Street but that has been completed.
Loren also reported that some of the workers had been parking in the county lot but that
was taken care of immediately.
Richardson said there was a concern from an individual regarding the number of trucks,
but Bo Bruning talked to the person face to face and explained it. I appreciate that he
took the time to do this.
Loren also explained that when they tap into the Courthouse, they want to build a
temporary inside wall to make the connection on the southeast side because of the
temporary fire escape.
He said he is taking applications for the supervisor position for his office and has 3 or 4
but he ask if anyone knows of someone to let him know.
Quandt ask Loren if they would consider mowing the additional area by the Veterans
Club during the summer. Loren said they did it last year.
PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE — Don Robb reported with the good weather they are crack
sealing and cleaning out ditches and installing tubes and culverts. He reported that they
sent out 28 notices on the fences and as of yesterday 12 have been removed. They
have also contacted landowners about the brush piles, and they have been taken care
of. He said he talked to Marty and they needed to prioritize fences and brush first. He
also said some of the landowners are out of the county or out of state.
Don reported that old Highway 30 is still owned by the state and he contacted them and
Marty asking to relinquish it to the county. We could change the speed limit. Wes
Walgren said the state will install a barrier and rumble strips to warn people. The state is
working on that to get resolved and to get people stopped.
Don reported that he had a call from Jenna with the state and she said Senators Fisher
and Smith are working on priority projects. There is a question on Engleman and
Wildwood by Cedar Hollow school regarding the traffic by the school. She has set up a
Zoom meeting for Thursday regarding funding for this it would be an 80/20 split to
address a safe zone for the school. They are asking for a rough estimate from an
engineer on the cost and he is asking if the board wants him to pursue this. They would
like this by Thursday for the Zoom meeting. They could propose adding a right-hand
6
