Don stated that July 21 he met with the Doniphan School superintendent and the bus <br /> drivers and will meet with the Wood River Superintendent and bus drivers and in a week <br /> will meet with Cantura regarding issues with the roads. The superintendents make the <br /> calls regarding road conditions and late starts. <br /> He reported that they are working on finishing Loup River Road but the 3 inches of rain <br /> they had to hold off. They are finishing the tubes on Buffalo Road and want to get the <br /> roads open for the school buses. They are also starting on Wiseman road there is an <br /> issue with the Platte River overflow so they are just using the same size structure for the <br /> replacement. <br /> 6A) FACILITIES —A) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING BOBCAT <br /> LEASE FOR PARK/FACILITIES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN Mr. Humphrey <br /> presented the information to the board regarding the Bobcat lease. This is in his budget. <br /> The cost is $5,800 and the cost did go up. <br /> Sorensen made a motion and Hurst seconded to approve the lease for the Bobcat for <br /> the Park/Facilities Departments. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peteson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried <br /> B) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING INFORMATION ABOUT THE <br /> FEDERAL BUILDING AND ARCHITECT — Mr. Humphrey stated that Gary and Sheriff <br /> Conrad looked at the Federal Building regarding the security and hiring an architect. <br /> The architect is proposing a contract based on an hourly rate. This all has to go to the <br /> National Parks Department and also to the Nebraska Historical Society for approve on <br /> any projects. <br /> Quandt suggested to put this off until August 18 when the board meets with the judges. <br /> He also stated that Ken Frederik does a good job and communicates well. <br /> C) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON PURCHASING USED FURNITURE FROM <br /> PRI-MARK INSURANCE COMPANY r. Humphrey provide a list of the furniture from <br /> Primark to the county departments and noted it is very good furniture and in excellent <br /> condition. He said state probation and juvenile probation needs to replace some desks <br /> and he would like the conference tables and a 6 foot table and the oval conference table <br /> to use in the rooms in the annex building. He is asking what the board would like to do. <br /> Bredthauer said to ask Mr. Klein if he will need a desk for the JDAI Coordinator. This <br /> furniture is in excellent condition and it is a good buy. <br /> Lancaster quested if there is storage room for this furniture. Doone said the Chairs are <br /> not in very good condition and he said they do have storage room. They could contact <br /> the probation department and talk to Marty. Discussion was held what to purchase <br /> Sorensen suggested a dollar amount. <br /> 6 <br />
