Bredthauer stated when she attended the NACO county board workshop they stressed <br /> the importance of having a current up to date handbook and to make sure various <br /> policies are included in the handbook. Discussion was held and the board directed <br /> Sarah to send out the draft of the handbook... <br /> COMMITTEE BOARD MEMBER REPORTS — Bredthauer said she attended the NACO <br /> workshop and there was a speaker from Texas that talked about grants and restoration <br /> to courthouses. There was also a presentation on cyber security. She reported that <br /> NACO has purchased land in Ogallala and are proposing to build a building for offices in <br /> the western part of the state. She also noted that Don Robb touched on the bridges and <br /> infrastructure that is crumbling. She also noted information regarding the OPIOID <br /> recovery funds could see some funding and also information regarding the changes on <br /> the inheritance tax. She also said that Ruth Sorensen with the Property Tax <br /> Administrators office will do training for the Board of Equalization. <br /> Lancaster said she has a few copies of the budget information from Senior Citizens. <br /> They have 3 full time employees. a head cook , finance manager and she has a few <br /> copies. They have 3 full time positions and the board took up responsibilities. They try <br /> not to spend the donation money use it pays for the portion of the internet and the <br /> shortfall. They do rent the building rent to SHIP and for birthday, bridal or retirement <br /> parties. They also have the treasure chest sales. They distributed 5,000 meals last <br /> year. <br /> Peterson said he attended the EDC annual meeting there were 250 to 300 there. There <br /> was a city planner from Florida and he encourage city o be fun. He noted they had a <br /> steel mouse scavenger hunt and set up tables across the bridge for vendor's .He had <br /> different fun things. <br /> Board Assistant Kim Dugan ask when the new job description were to go into effect. <br /> Discussion was held. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Sorensen seconded to make the new job descriptions for <br /> the Public Defender and County treasurer effective July 1 2022. Bredthauer, Hurst, <br /> Lancaster, Quandt, Petersen, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted <br /> no. Motion carried. <br /> 16. EXECUTIVE SESSION REGARDING LITIGATION - Quandt made a motion and <br /> Lancaster seconded to go into executive session regarding litigation. Chair Peterson <br /> stated that there are two reasons for an executive session to protect the needless hare <br /> or injury to an individual or to protect the public interest. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, <br /> Quandt, Petersen, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 14 <br />
