16. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING PUBIC WORKS <br /> DEPARTMENT SPECIAL AUDIT— Kayla Schulte with Lutz was present and stated that <br /> as she was working through the process for the special audit she noted that all of the <br /> funds that are received go through the County Treasurer and all of the claims go <br /> through the County Clerk's office. This would be a full audit. There would not be much <br /> value because in a special audit the bank accounts re the real risk. So a special audit <br /> would not provide much value in this instance. <br /> Lancaster stated she wanted to bring this to the board because it is really not necessary <br /> and the county can save the cost of another audit. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Richardson seconded to dispense with the special audit <br /> for the Road Department. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson <br /> and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Sheriff Conrad requested to address the board concerning his new budget. He <br /> explained that the fuel along will exceed the budgeted amount. He was able to cover the <br /> costs to cover the fuel. Fuel costs have continued to increase throughout the year. He <br /> wanted to let the board know about the fuel costs. He also noted what a better way to <br /> defund police to make gas prices high. <br /> Quandt ask about how much fuel they used in a day and Sheriff Conrad stated they use <br /> about 100 gallons a day. The transports have aloo increased. <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSIONS - Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into <br /> executive session for the following. Peterson stated there are 2 reasons for an <br /> executive session to prevent needles harm to an individual or to protect the public <br /> interest. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all <br /> voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 6. BOARD OF EQUALIZATION - DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION WITH REGARD <br /> TO TERC LITIGATION, INCLUDING: <br /> a) Sala Evangelica Church, Inc. <br /> b) First United Presbyterian Church <br /> c) Blessed Sacrament Church <br /> d) Apostolic Assembly of the Faith In Christ Jesus <br /> e) Capital Heights Swim Club <br /> 6.
