DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING ROAD GRADER PURCHASE —
Mr. Robb noted that this was discussed at the last meeting and he is looking at the best
interest of the county. There will be additional wear and tear on the machines and the
price will go up. The board had discussed purchasing 6 machines and this would be a
good time to consider this. He read a list of multiple counties that have purchased motor
graders on the state bid. He would highly recommend to purchase machines in the
near future. The machines could possibly be available as soon as April or May of next
year and it could be billed in the next budget year. Colt Shafer said it would be 14 to 18
months. The have a major line set up for the graders.
The total cost of 3 more machines would be estimated at $869,888.00 and each trade in
would be $50,000. They would be able to use the old machines until the new machines
came in. That would leave a balance of$719,888.00 after trade in.
