Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all <br /> voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 14 E) UPDATE ON CENTRAL NEBRASKA AIRPORT PROJECT— Loren reported that <br /> they have ran some water through the dewatering lines and they will start that in a <br /> couple of weeks. They are negotiating on how to close the roads. The city wants to <br /> close them one time rather than multiple times that would be confusing to the public. <br /> Quandt ask how many wells and Loren said there are 50 wells and the pipes are large <br /> to prevent back pressure on the pumps. The water table is down so they are hoping for <br /> no rain. <br /> D) FACILITIES UPDATE -They are working on the parking of the lot in the back of <br /> courthouse there was an issue with a sewer line that collapsed this morning but the <br /> company is repairing it. <br /> Held a 5 minute break <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Char Peterson call4ed for public participation and County <br /> Attorney Marty Klein stated that in a couple weeks he will have additional information <br /> regarding drug court regarding the reimbursements and the county cars. <br /> 13 E) INTERVIEW FOR HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT - <br /> Chair Peterson explained the interview process there are a number of questions that the <br /> board members will ask. <br /> Don Robb, 1429 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, York NE was present. <br /> Mr. Robb stated he approached Scott Sorensen reading the Highway superintendent <br /> opening and submitted an application. <br /> 1. Mr. Robb stated he is currently working for an engineering firm and talked to <br /> Scott at the Central District meeting. He was a former highway superintendent <br /> for a couple counties and has a Class A license, bridge inspection license and <br /> has used heavy equipment. He is currently working for an engineering firm and <br /> goes where he is needed. He worked on the Niobrara Bridge and has worked <br /> with FEMA. <br /> 2. He stated he is happy with his job but this is an opportunity to step back in as a <br /> highway superintendent position. He feels he could be a good fit. <br /> 3. He would be a good candidate because he has been there before he knows what <br /> is coming and he ask what the board expects. Has been a highway <br /> superintendent appreciates what is going on in the county and ask if there could <br /> be some improvements <br /> 4. He current has a Class A Highway Superintendent license can do bridge <br /> inspection and has fracture critical bridge inspection licenses he does the city of <br /> Grand Island bridges and knows the area has experience is familiar with the City <br /> and the surrounding area and has experience from previous positions <br />
