COUNTY ATTORNEY— EXECUTIVE SESSION —A) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE <br /> ACTION ON EMPLOYEE LEAVE POLICY This executive session will be addressed at <br /> the end of the meeting. <br /> B) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING UNION NEGOTIATIONS — <br /> Deputy County Attorney Sarah Carstensen stated to pull this item it will not be <br /> considered today. <br /> 5.9:15 EXTENSION OFFICE DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING <br /> BUDGET SHORTAGE — Cami Wells with the extension office and Karen Bredthauer <br /> provide information to the board members regarding the cost of the utilities at College <br /> Park. The extension office is required to contribute 17.3% towards the utilities and this <br /> year they have exhausted the budgeted dollars. Karen noted the significant increase on <br /> the gas bill. She stated that they have done a study and CMB Architects is involved to <br /> see if there are ways to make the system more efficient. They have had discussion to <br /> replace the current boilers. They are also looking for grant dollars to help with this <br /> process. <br /> Lancaster noted that when there are budget shortfalls they will make adjustments but <br /> there is no need to address this now. <br /> Peterson stated he attended an EDC meeting and rates have doubled as a result of the <br /> storm in Texas. They applied to the public service commission and they approved a 2 <br /> year rate increase to catch up. <br /> Quandt ask if the state may have some funds available and Karen stated they do not. <br /> 2 <br />
