He had presented a packet to the county
board and was told that the land could not be transferred to the club. The land would
have to be deeded back the Hall County. He contracted Senator Aguilar and they met
with the individual that is in charge of the land acquisition. The land can be transferred
from one government entity to another because the other parcel is currently owned by
Hall County. This piece of land has the sewer water and electric connections to the
club. The state did approve a lease to the club but that can be broken at any time. The
club has been there since 1970 and they have the ball fields, the parking lot and the
infrastructure on this parcel. They are waiting for the state to make a decision.
Quandt ask what the county can do to help and he is asking for the county's support
and to contact Senator Aguilar.
Mr. Catron also noted that the club cannot do anything with the land without the
county's permission. They can only make improvement with the county's approval.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Chair Peterson called for public participation and no one
responded.
4 8:15 A.M. PRESENTATION BY COUNTY ATTORNEY ON COMMISSIONER
INVESTIGATION - Mr. Sorensen stated that he sent an E mail to Kim and ask that she
print and distribute a copy to the board members. He stated that County Attorney Marty
Klein will address this issue.
County Attorney Marty Klein stated that this caused him great disappointment and
frustration the way was handled. This report goes back to December when comments
made in this room and because of those comments there was an anonymous letter that
was sent to multiple parties and not Mr. Sorensen. . He then heard comments about Mr.
Sorensen questioning who he was and what was going on. There were vailed questions
made and Marty stated that Sheriff Conrad and Sarah Carstensen struggled what to do
and if they should proceed with an investigation. They contacted the Attorney General
and they said to have the State Patrol do the investigation. He did not convey any of this
information to Scott the best way to address this was to do the investigation.
He stated he is flustrated and angry the report stated there was no sufficient evidence
and it was unfounded. Whatever was reported was unfounded. In the future if he
receives an anonymous letter he will come to the County Board and ask them what they
want to do. This is "chicken blank" if you have concerns with any member of the board
3
