John Webb stated he was not opposed to the permit for the batch plant but also felt it
should be closer to Highway 2.
Terry Wilhelms with Werner construction was present and explained that they looked for
property that would be close but this was formerly a Hooker Brother site and it was an
ideal location for the aggregate. He explained that they would use 70th and Airport
Road to connect to Highway 2 and would stay away from the bridge. This is a
temporary permit to be used during the construction project. There is a legal lease
agreement with Southern Power and the legal description is correct.
Lancaster questioned if it should noted that it is temporary. That would be addressed in
the resolution. Mr. Baxter requested clarification on the location. It is an odd piece of
land and the route was explained.
Sorensen stated they are planning to work on 70th road and will get it in shape.
Sorensen made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to go out of the public hearing.
Bredthauer, Hurt, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes
and no one voted no. Motion carried. The resolution will be addressed in 2 weeks.
9.9:45 A.M.
