Lancaster noted they have a good workforce need the leadership. <br /> Peterson noted that the former superintendent is the county engineer and that best fits his skill <br /> set. <br /> Sorensen noted that he was the assistant and ask why he stepped down. Marshall stated that <br /> he did not resect the superintendent at that time and the employees spoke ill of him he could not <br /> stay in that position. <br /> He noted there was a maintenance foreman construction foreman and 2 mechanics and one is <br /> a foreman. Discussion was held on the structure of their department. He want to see a place <br /> where people want to come to work and want to see them like their jobs. He noted that people <br /> get upset when some work and others done you have to get people to contribute and make <br /> them feel valued. You can't make them listen but there has to be consistency. People need to <br /> know what they have to do each day. <br /> Bredthauer noted that at the NACO conference other boards expect the highway superintendent <br /> to report to the county board and give progress reports on projects. <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION — Sorensen made a motion and Richardson seconded to go into <br /> executive session. There are 2 reasons for an executive session to protect the public interest or <br /> to prevent needless harm or injury to an individual. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, <br /> Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 3:57 p.m. executive session <br /> 4:40 p.m. Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go out of executive session. No <br /> other subjects were discussed no votes were taken and no action was taken. Bredthauer, <br /> Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted <br /> no. Motion carried. <br /> Discussion regarding action. <br /> 4:41 p.m. Richardson made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go back into executive <br /> session There are 2 reasons for an executive session to protect the public interest or to prevent <br /> needless harm or injury to an individual.
